Hummus is easy to make if you have a good food processor. A blender also works but its a little bit more difficult to get the final product out of the blades. Mix 1 drained can chickpeas, 1 small garlic clove, a blop of olive oil (2tbsp?), juice from 1 half lemon, 1 tsp tahini (sesame seed butter/paste- you can sub other nut butters if you cant get the tahini, but the flavor will be different) in your food processor. Blend until the texture is as you like it. You may need to add 1-2 spoons of water. Dont be afraid to taste and adjust the other components to your taste. Incidentally, I *like* garlic and this is plenty of garlic for me. If you like more, taste *after* you blend it, the garlic ends up stronger than you think it will! You can also make other "hummus" with different types of beans: try soybeans (edamame) or white beans. 1120 days ago
