Sounds like you have a great plan for your week! That's so much better than I was when I started out. I didn't think about the nutritional content of what I was eating at all. I just tried to focus on staying within calories.
If you're ever stuck on what to eat, you can always try checking out SparkRecipes. Some things on there are pretty tasty and easy to whip up. http://recipes.sparkpeople.com
I also like Amy's stuff a lot. My favorite has always been the Spinach Feta Pockets. I think they're really tasty and easy when I'm in a rush. I'm a big fan of almost anything in the Kashi line of foods. I have tried to get a little into cooking some as well, which is something I never used to do.
I'm so glad you didn't give up. I really don't tend to promote myself...as a matter of fact I didn't even tell my Mom that I wrote this before it came out, but the next time you feel like quitting (because trust me, there will unfortunately be a next time...I've so been there!) you might try reading my (or one of the other ones on the site) one year Spark story. I originally just made it a blog post, but the Spark People picked it up and published it in the "inspirational stories" section.
(man I hate that they don't let you use HTML in comments!)
A lot of this whole weight loss thing is just faking it till you make it. Just ask Maya how down on myself I was for the majority of the process. It wasn't until maybe 5 months ago or so that I actually started to believe I had changed at all. I was constantly like, "Yeah, I know I lost 50 lbs, but I'm still fat and I'm going to gain it all back and I haven't acheived anything and I suck." It's a big growth process. I would've never in a million years believed how much of it is mental.
It's good to be in touch with you again too! 3142 days ago
Hello! Cindy here. Welcome to SparkPeople! *waves*
Like Alexa said, SparkPeople is a great resource. I'm almost halfway to my goal, and I've made slow but steady progress. Even though I'm not where I want to be yet, I already feel much more active and energetic. I've found that when you stick to the program it really works, but for me that's the hard part! 3144 days ago
Yeah. This totally can help you make that switch. I didn't give up anything while losing the weight. It's not about giving up things...it's about learning how to incorporate them into everyday life and have a healthy relationship with food. I'm actually down 87 pounds now. I can't even believe it, really. I don't even recognize myself anymore. =P
Anyway, you should add Maya...and Cindy....and Darby. They're all on here. Maya was the one who showed me the site originally. Florence is on here too...but I don't think she has a Spark Page. The other three, however, are on my page if you wanna add them. Welcome! =D 3145 days ago
