2/18 - Ok here I am again - still plucking away. Life is good.

Hello all !!! My name is Laureen and I live in Northern California. I am a registered nurse, college professor, wife and mother. Last week, I hit my heaviest weight ever. It is funny what happens as we keep changing the "acceptable" limit on the scale. Im currently seeking my second graduate degree and thus have gotten a bit more lazy about exercising than ever in my life. I found this site and am so excited. Its kind of like a wonderful combination of the best of all diet plans Ive tried in the past.

Update: september 27.... This is frustratingly slow. Ok Im not being anywhere near perfect but really. Ive been flirting with 200 since June ARRGGGHHHH. Ok - this week Im going to bust past and never return !!!!

My Goals:
Update 4/3/12. Well Its been over a year since the last update. There have been ups and downs - highs and lows like all of life. I am actually doing well. My weight is lower than it has been in a long long time. For now, just focusing on that one goal. Im drinking very little if at all and walking every day. I will work on the rest of me, once I reach some more goals.


Update 2/18. Well, I have obviously not met my goals so time to reevaluate. Goal number 1 - get below 200. Number two run a 5K on April 17. Number three be forced to buy new clothes for my birthday in June. Number 4, have to buy even more new clothes for my trip next January. Most importantly, to live, love, and be heatlhy.

Well here I am 5 months later and no where near my goals - But Im still trucking along. So to look at my prior goals...

Live a long happy and health life. This is in progress

Stay out of the hospital. Oops spent the night last week - time to reaffirm the need to


My Program:
Exercise every day, drink water and staying within the defined calorie count. Im trying to find new forms of exercise so I dont get bored. I joined the bay area trails challenge and want to take up Salsa and Zumba.

Update 9/27 Still havent gotten to any of the trails but Im doing biggest loser twice a week, my trainer twice a week ballroom dance once a week and now cardio once on the weekend.

    I've been off myself for a little while and just read your December blog. Lots of good messages in there. I'm glad you've got your husband there to help you, but I hear you about sometimes sabotaging each other. We do the same thing....certainly not intentionally, but we both LOVE food and like to "treat" each other. Tonight we're going to treat each other by going to the gym together. Hopefully, we'll learn to LOVE that, too emoticon
