Mum Needs Motivation

I'm 56, 3 grown kids, 2 cats, work part-time, bad knees, no motivation, like to walk, love music and singing, playing games on Facebook, & hate talking on the phone. I snack on stuff late at night, & sit up on the computer, when I know I should be sleeping. Clothes don't fit so I get new ones. I'm pear-shaped so nothing looks good on me. I like to knit but I've even lost that motivation. Help!

My Goals:
Would like to lose 35 lbs, but since right now I'm a member of a diet study group with Queen's University, I'm not allowed to lose any weight until the study is over, by end of December. Then, I'm rewarded with a 6-mth gym membership. Yea!

My Program:
I write down everything I eat, but sometimes I hate doing it. When I look at the calories I've eaten in one day, it's ridiculous.

I want to lose about 35 lbs but I'm a member of a diet study group at Queen's University (Serena Group) and I'm in the 'Maintenance Group' so I'm not allowed to lose any weight until the study is over, by the end of December. Then, I'm rewarded with a 6 month gym membership. I'm lucky that way, because I live right across the street from a gym. Then, I hope to lose 35 lbs. It gets harder to lose, I think, as you get older. The knees hurt, the metabolism is down, the excuses are up.
