I have been overweight since a teen and I have finally decided it is time to change my life and get healthy! There have always been excuses, well excuses can just go right in the trash, no excuses anymore. I am fabulous, I should feel and look fabulous! Thankfully I have a wonderful support system to motivate me. It's time to eat less, move more, have fun and rock out!

Gym Membership... Check! Dog who is dying for walks... Check! Positive attitude... Check!

My Goals:
Lose at least 75 lbs.

Build lean muscle by strength training.

Run a 5K

Keep an active lifestyle



My Program:
Diet: I log everything I eat on SparkPeople, on average I eat about 1400 - 1500 calories a day. I am cooking meals at home and try to only eat out once a week. I always have a touch of something indulgent, so long as it keeps within my calorie rang. Deprivation just ends up leading to frustration!

I weigh and measure everything I eat when possible, to make sure I'm eating right portion sizes.

Exercise: I am aiming to exercise enough to burn off approx. 3,600 calories a week. This usually involves 60 to 70 minutes of cardio 6 days a week.

I will mix up my cardio by either running (I am doing the C25K program), the AMT machine at the gym, random workout videos, or walking at a fast pace with my dog Ciara.

I strength train 3 days a week at the gym.



Personal Information:
I am 34 years old, 5'1". I have been married for 11 years to my high school sweetheart. My husband is my best friend and he has finally been supportive of me being more active, and even comes to the gym with me on occasion! We have 2 kitties, Nymeria and Min and a Greyhound named Ciara.

I love to knit, play video games, read, movies, and hang out with my awesome friends. I have a particular love of wine, cheese, and good chocolate (in love with Taza chocolate atm). Most of my hobbies and loves are not conducive of losing weight, so I need to be mindful of my activity level and keep the treats to a minimum.
