My Goals:
Since I turned 50, I gained over 60 pounds. Now I have the time to get in shape again.

My Program:
A year ago I enrolled in a tai chi class (Sun-style). I liked it so much that I am taking another class (Yang-style) on Saturdays. I really enjoy the each aspect of it. In addition to the tai chi, I walk three times a week (for now) up a hill with music from Gillian McKeith.

Personal Information:
I live in sunny California, which can be a problem in summer. Due to the high heat, I do my walking in the early mornings.

Other Information:
My name is Ronnie (Veronica) and Steckborn is the town I was born in.

Hope you don't mind that I added you as a Spark friend. Thougt maybe we could help each other out with our GERD issues.
I am struggling with my weight since i turned 50 also. its llke I have to work really hard at it just to maintain. I really like to excercise also and I think that's what keeps my weight from creeping up the most and its great for the mood isn't it?
so glad you have found a good remedy for the symptoms and I hope it just keeps getting better. Have a great weekend! emoticon

Hi! I saw you on Fun-Loving People Over 60. I love tai chi, too. I'm jealous of your California scenery and weather. We had a wicked winter here in the midwest, and now the spring rains are washing us away. And, shortly, we'll get hot summer days, some in triple digits (along with about 80%+ humidity)!

I, too, try to do my walking before or after the heat of the day. I have psoriasis, and if I get to feeling hot, it flares!

Hope you have some nice cool mornings for your walks ...

I am new here and also I am retired. You are right , it is good to have to time to work on weight loss, and to be able to exercise any hour of the day.
It is not easy getting the extra pounds out of the way and I won't miss them!
