Hi! Back again with new motivation and positive attitude! I am really tired of thinking of myself as "formerly skinny". I want to be fit!

My name is Jamie....I'm turning 30 this year. I've been married to Ben for 6 years and we have two children. I've also been accepted into radiography school, and I will graduate in May of 2010 with my degree and rad license. I can not wait for my 30s!!!

I have found a new passion: running.'s more like jogging, but "running" sounds cooler. :)

I started talking to a classmate of mine who runs full marathons, and she has an amazing body and all she does is run! (I am going to do strength training as well, though) She told me how awesome a feeling it is to cross that finish line, and how she loves that running is really just on her own time, not any one else's. She explained to me that it's *all* mental, the first mile is the hardest (up until now I have only been able to jog a quarter of a mile before stopping) and if you can just push past that initial feeling of exhaustion, you have this amazing feeling of being able to go on forever. I tried it: And she was exactly right! It truly is all mental...I CAN keep going! I loved it...and now I'm hooked.

I never thought in a million years I would enjoy running. I am so non-athletic, it's ridiculous. I ran track in school...quit. I played basketball in school...quit. I didn't like being the worst-skilled person. And I usually was. (Which is hilarious because my dad played college basketball!) LOL Anyhoo....I have found when I run, the only person I'm competing with is myself....and I can do better than my competition any time I want. That is such an awesome non-pressured self-esteem boosting feeling!

Now I am shooting for my first 5K in September. At first, I wasn't sure I could do it, but when I had the first epiphany of "I CAN keep going!" I knew I could.

So....I don't have a weight loss goal, I have a 5K goal, and I am going to eat right and slim down so I'm not carrying the extra weight when I run.

Who knows...maybe one day I'll do a half marathon!?!

My Goals:
Short Term Goal: Look good wearing a bikini this summer!

Mid Term Goal: I want to be a size 5 and go out with my husband on New Year's Eve 2008-2009 looking/feeling like a movie star at an awards show, complete with hair to the middle of my back, sexy clothes and all! I'm sure my hair won't be that long by then, so if I meet my size 5 reward is hair extensions and a spa day New Year's Eve. Definitely something to look forward to!

My Program:
I don't have one. I'm a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl.

I run. If I'm too sore to run, I lift weights and tone. I love to run in the rain, but not the severe-cold, so if it's freezing, I get on my elliptical or treadmill.

That's it! :)
