Getting Fit for Life!

I began my journey to a healthier life in 2006. Since then I've lost 50 pounds and greatly increased my health. Some of my big motivators are being able to have kids one day and being a healthy mom, being proud of my appearance and my body, and warding off diseases that are caused by or made worse by obesity.

I'd like to lose another 10-20 pounds and continue to find new exercise activities and healthy eating choices. The motivation provided by SparkPeople is wonderful!

My Goals:

My Program:
I loosely follow the Insulin-Resistance Diet. I aim for at least 180 minutes of exercise (at home) per week. I enjoy many fitness DVDs (Jillian Michaels, Biggest Loser, Windsor Pilates), Wii - My Fitness Coach, and the Gazelle.

Personal Information:
I am in my 20's, from Wisconsin, and have been married for 3 and a half years already (hard to believe!). We love being home owners and hope to have children one day.

Hi There! Thank you for the comment on my blog! I'm sorry you feel like that sometimes -- its such a drag!! But look at your progress!!!! 50 pounds!! wow! you look great!!!! I had lost a bunch of weight before i got married and as soon as that dress was off i slipped right back into my old habits!!!! how dumb! but i'm determined this time -- if i could only get off of my butt!! :) haha I have bad food habits to break too... I'm more of a "salty" person than sweet... I can cut back on all my meals -- i just can't work out to save my life!!!!! Keep on truckin!! Thank you for support!!! Just write if you feel like eating something sweet! haha

Running is the MOST AMAZING workout!! But be warned, it's REALLY addicting (which I suppose is a GOOD thing! LOL) you can check out the C25K program at www.coolrunning.com! :-) I hope you do start running, it has made my body completely morph into something AMAZING!! :-)

I started last June and by using Spark and some self discovery in the process, I'm down 25 pounds, and am holding steady at a healthy weight. Spark is a massive site, you will be discovering new and exciting things for at least two months! Good luck and enjoy this invigorating new healthy lifestyle.

* Diet is a dirty word. Every time I hear it, I wash my mouth out with chocolate!
