Hello Everyone, I'm Heather and I'm ready to start living this life to the fullest and I'm starting with the overdue and necessary journey "battle of the bulge". I've pretty much been heavy since pre-teen, and so it's a mental thing for me as well as physical.
I've succeeded before however, my highest at 296 lbs, and I got down to 217 lbs. Eventually an excuse of vacation getting off the diet, struggling to get back on, life events and the passing of my dear Mom, I made my way back up to 287 lbs. I'm now down to 273 lbs, 14 lbs loss since March 18th, when I finally put the foot down on myself (lol) and got serious. I'm happy to have found this site and looking forward to meeting positive like minded people.
(My handle was suppose to be Ready4Life, opps..lol...well I'm just going to stick with this one)
1/18/10 - Unfortuantly after losing 40lbs in 2008, I'm back up to my top weight. I had a bad car accident that left me in a lot of pain, and led to emotional eating.
I'm back, Today is day 1. I'm hopeful that I can have the same success as I did in 2008! I now an extra added incentive, I'm going to Hawaii in August 2011 :)
Starting new mini-goals, to reward myself for the small successes.
Mini-Goals: (FOR 2010)
270 lbs - Pedicure (MET 4/16/10)
260 lbs - New Shoes (MET 7/30/10) - 4 pairs of shoes :)
250 lbs - Hair cut/style (MET 11/18/10), hair is cute, but shorter than I wanted it, 8 inches cut!
Mini-Goals: (FOR 2011) - Back at 270lbs from holiday weight gain/eating bad etc. (2 1/2 months)
260lbs - Pedicuare
250 lbs - Comfy pj's & new jacket
240 lbs - New outfit
230 lbs - Trip to the beach
220 lbs - Two new outfits
210 lbs - Trip to Seattle
200 lbs - larger trip like Vegas etc.
I would like to get down to 180lbs or a size 14. And what comes with losing weight to have more energy and feel great!
LONG TERM GOAL: Half Marathon in the next two yrs
I'm doing a Modified Low-Carb diet, which works for me. Trying to drink 8 glasses of water per day, and exercise at least 4 times a week.
Swimming, traveling, whitewater rafting, hiking, dancing, karaoke, reading, writing poetry, the beach, gazing at the stars, camping & fishing (I'm a NW girl)

I am so glad to be back. What I thought was a little summer cold turned into full blown strep throat. I am feeling so much better now but without my workouts I gained 6 lbs.
Oh well I'm starting boot camp again on Monday.

Wow!!! I am impressed. 13 miles of river?!?!?! I have zero upper body strength so I would have been up sh*** creek.
. Which diet pill are you taking? Do you see a significant difference with your appetite? My problem is I eat when I'm bored. I know...so bad but that's my biggest issue that I am trying to work on. Not all that successfully but I am trying.
I am so proud of us...doing it little by little but steadily!!! The recipe for success and keeping it off.
I just finished up my second semester of school and have a week off before my third semester starts so I am kicking my workouts up a notch this coming week. Hopefully this will be a successful week for both of us.

Glad you're doing so much better and CONGRATS on the weight loss!!!! I'm so excited for you.
I have purposely not weighed myself until today..just trying something new and I lost another 13lbs this month. I am so proud of myself. I know those crazy bootcamps are what's doing it but either way I am ridiculously happy.
You have amazing plans this weekend with whitewater rafting...how exciting. Your arms and your core are definitely going to get a great workout....13 miles?!?!? Wow.
I love the water too. More so the pool than anything, but Saturday will be a birthday party at the beach for one of my girlfriends. That should be exciting.
Anyway, I hope you have a fabulous weekend and I will talk to you soon. Keep up the great work. So proud of you.

Hello my love,
How are you? Hope all is well. I'm doing well. Don't worry the eye surgery was nothing too serious. It was caught in time. I went to the eye doctor for a routine exam for my contacts and they discovered I had a retinal tear. So I just had it lasered and repaired ASAP. No biggie though, it was quick and painless. The recovery has been the worst part. LOL The light sensitivity and the skewed depth perception is annoying to say the least. I'm still working hard on my journey though. My first goal date has been moved out a bit to August 17th. It's my Grandma's 80th birthday party and my entire family will be there so I want to look fabulous.
I have been logging my food on myfitnesspal.com and I have to say I am seeing progress. It's linked to my FitBit and I am just getting a better calorie count. I'm not leaving you though!!! NEVER!!!
I'm getting nervous because the weekend is coming up and I really want to do well so I'm trying to put my mind to it now but honestly as you know, I don't do too well on the weekends. It's so shameful but I'm going to try.
Anyway, I'm about to start work so I will talk to you later.

I am just fine my love. Sorry about that. I did actually respond and when I hit post comment I got an error message. I said to myself I'll just do it later and as usual in my life, I was overwhelmed by 1000 other things and didn't get back to it. I AM SO SORRY!!! Bad Buddy! Bad Buddy!!
Yes, I saw that comment yesterday but I wasn't allowed on the computer...I had minor eye surgery yesterday on one eye and had to rest it all day. I'm back to it today. Thank Goodness because I really missed my computer and my iPhone.
I felt the same way all day Sunday and yesterday... . I really ate poorly. I was social eating and drinking and it continues to be my downfall. However, to stay positive, I was pretty good on portion control and stopping myself plus I got right back into it yesterday.
How did you do? Did you recover yesterday or did you still have a carb hangover? I am the same way with carbs..I really do love them and when I am bad it's always with carbs.
Well I have to start my workout so I'll be on time for work. I hope you have a great week too.

That is so great. You are so close to your first mini goal of 25 lbs. I'm so proud of you especially knowing that you didn't work out for 2 weeks but you never quit, you just got back on the right track. That's exactly what it's all about. Not letting slip ups defeat you.
I've missed you and I'm so glad you're back. I'd never give up on my SP buddy. We're going to see this through this time...together!
