Hi! I'm Renee and i'm a 20 year old developmental psychology student at the University of Maine in Orono. This journey, for me, is more about creating a new perspective on life itself, about realizing that i have this one life and while it may be difficult at times, it's mine to live, and i want to live it being well. It's less about the actual numbers and more about the overall feeling of health, mind, body, and soul.
Positivity is the goal here. This society relishes in people's misfortunes and tragedies. In the news, on the radio, we hear about all the things that went wrong and rarely do reports ever get made about what went right.
I plan to focus on what's good in my life. We all make mistakes and we have have pasts that we could dwell in, but ruminating in our negative history doesn't give us a chance to make positive changes to our present, that can have an outstanding influence on our futures.
We will all be happier and healthier if we look at physical fitness and healthy eating as something we're doing to better ourselves as a whole, rather than thinking of it as a duty, or to conform to what society thinks we should be.
I've struggled myself with weight and eating issues for almost 1/2 my life...and i'm only 20. Over the years i've degraded, battered and really abused my body, the only one i've been given...all to be the unrealistic sized, picture perfect person that doesn't and wont ever exist.
We're all worth good food. We're all worth a good life. I'm worth it and it's time i finally appreciated and loved myself enough to commit to a healthy lifestyle...for me.

1. Get at close to 8 hours of sleep as possible
2. drink 8 classes of water a day
3. BE POSITIVE
4. workout regularly
5. eat nutritious foods!
6. No skipping meals
7. Forgo the "old" behaviors that keep me unwell
To meet my goals:
1. drinking lots of water
2. getting a reasonable amount of sleep
3. exercising at least 5 times a week (cardio and weights)
4. walking as exercise
5. keeping track of my caloric intake
6. staying away from the whole "i had a bag of skittles and now the whole day is ruined so i might as well have that whole bag of chips as well" kind of attitude...that's one of my biggest problems.
7. healthy mind, healthy body
I'm originally from Vassalboro, Maine but i moved up to Orono, Maine to attend the university. Right now i live in an apartment with my two roommates in Old Town, Maine.
I like the color green, photography, coffee mugs, and colored paper clips. I'm high strung and on the obsessive compulsive side. I'm kind, compassionate and i plan to make a difference in the world someday. I'm a friend, a sister, and a daughter. I matter to people, though i tend to forget that. I'm committed to engaging in healthy behaviors and leaving the negative ones, that i've let rule my life for way to long, far far behind.

I hope I have a fantastic Tuesday but we'll see how it goes. I don't think the weather is any better here. Yesterday it was drizzling like all morning and then it got cold last night and there were supposed to be snow showers. I heard on the radio when I woke up that the roads were slippery. Good thing I got up early so I can leave for school early.
