It's Not Exactly Rocket Science...

... because if it were, I'd be all over it. Yep, I really am one of those! Complicated math and science? No problem. But the whole healthy lifestyle thing is a whole other world.

I have had success in the past eating healthy, running a 5k, and losing weight. But I let it all slip away when I started grad school. Joining SP marks my commitment to myself (no one else) to get healthy again!

My Goals:

My Program:
I'm not doing a specific program. I'm mostly trying to eat clean and choose low glycemic foods to help keep my blood sugar steady.



Personal Information:
Hi... I'm Melissa- Single mom of a wonderful teenage daughter :) She plays travel hockey all year which keeps me running all over town all the time. I play rec hockey once a week and also I started grad school in the fall (still working full time) so I'm a little busy. Sometimes (ok- all the time!) it's tough to find time to get in my run or pack my lunch... I need motivation!

I did Week 3 Day 2 this morning :) It seems to be much easier this time around even though I did nothing for an entire year! I am tempted to skip ahead, but I'm just going to keep the pace and go with it. I am trying to extend each workout by repeating the intervals that are on the program and so far it's been working. I have so much energy and I look forward to my next run.

I think I'll try to dig up my old blog from way back then and see how I was struggling. I remember dreading week 4!

I'm also repeating the C25K program. First graduated Jan 2011 and ran my first 5K 2/19/11

I'm now on W3D1 of 5K101. These programs just keep me accountable to running 3 days a week. I like to see the progress.

How's this go around working for you? What we are you on?

Disney is on my list too! A guy I went to high school with runs just about all of them! How lucky, right?
