Welcome to Sparkpeople!!! And thanks for the comment on my Mountain Dew blog. I had to drag myself kicking and screaming from my Mountain Dew habit!!! It is my biggest unhealthy choice (I believe that sodas are SO bad for us - diet and regular - but don't get me started on that aspect - and they taste so good). Advice? You HAVE to flip a switch in your brain that says you are worth more than that soda!!! For me it was realizing how much control I was letting it have on me. I am a control fanatic and I have let food and drink control me for too long. This is one area where me gaining control is an awesome thing.

I made a comment on one of my Mountain Dew frustration blogs that I might as well smash the bottle of Mountain Dew against a wall because it is such a waste - actually it would be better for me to do that! THAT's when I realized I had gained an upper hand. AND I started streaking my control. Every day I post a sticky note with the number of days I have taken my health back from Mountain Dew - I LOVE seeing that number go up! I plan for that number to go up for the rest of my life!

You can do it! You are so worth that choice! Have fun on your journey and take advantage of the blogging - it is an awesome tool to put in writing how our journey is going. It helps to gain perspective when struggling and rejoice in milestones.
