Aging doesn't have to mean total deterioration!

I joined Spark People on April 4, 2010. It worked for me right away, and by November I had lost the 30 pounds I came to lose. I held onto that really nicely until about July of 2011 and then a little crept back. Then a little more in December. Turns out that maintenance really is harder than losing for me.

In January of 2014 I realized my sugar consumption was again out of control and I was creeping back up. In February I began the To Quiet Inflammation Diet (terrible name) by Kathy Abascal. It has changed my life. It's all about eating mostly fruits and vegetables -- eliminating all processed foods (thus no white flour, added sugar, chemicals and so on), and testing to see which foods cause trouble. Wheat causes trouble.
I feel better than I have felt better in a very, very long time. And I have a revived interest in cooking. Food tastes great!

My Goals:
Drop my weight down to 145. Get control of my cravings so I am not obsessed by food. I'd love to get to a place where food is for fuel, real pleasure and company, and not for obsession.

I live in Seattle because it's lovely here. I am married to my love and together we are raising a big mess of beautiful girls (ages 15 - 37). And two grandsons are in our lives.
