My Journey to Slim City!

12/15/2014: As I get ready for the 5% Winter Challenge, I am still trying to reach my goal of 120 lbs. Not mandatory, but I want it!
2014 has been a good year allowing me to drop 15 lbs. WooHoo!! I was already 125 when I lost my home internet so I was successful this past year having lost what I had regained during that 2 year gap.
Hopefully 2015 will get the last 5 - it's something to try for!

P.S. for anyone not knowing me, I started at 210 lbs. This isn't vanity ...

Jan 9, 2014 - After no home internet for 2 years, and a regain of 20 lbs, I am finally connected to the world again.
I am back to sparkin' this weight off one more time - thankfully not all of it, lol. I would just like to be back in the 20's again.

Apr 2011 - Winter 2010-2011 has seen me gain back a few pounds - not unexpectedly, but a couple more than I desired. I have gone as high as 122.2 (March 21st) and while not thrilled, I can accept and live with it. I had hoped to keep it below 120 but that was not to be with the rough winter we had this year. I don't think of myself as a failure - I am going to be on this journey for the rest of my life and I must learn to adjust. I can and I will.

10/2/2010 - Finally! 115.0 WooHoo!! 95 lbs gone forever!

8/13 - 115.7! Unbelievable! Truly Sparktacular!

8/12 - 116.1 - WooHoo! I can almost taste 115! Still not quite maintaining 116 but getting closer all the time! This time I only went back up to 117.

8/6 - 116.6 - 'visited' 119 twice but this time I am going to maintain! I must keep my protein up!

7/9 - 116.8 - maybe this time!

6/3 - 116.9 - first time at 116!! Stayed in 116 for 3 days - then up again.

May 25, 2010 - I hit 117.6 for the first time ever!! WooHoo!!

May 4, 2010 - I am now able to hold 119-ish with relative ease. Still trying to reach the ideal weight of 117. Since I cannot count on anyone at the Blood Bank to take my platelets (stick me), I gave up trying. I can donate whole blood as low as 110 pounds so 117 will be safe if I am able to maintain it. It is up to my body now to decide, not me. Very slowly from this point on because it will be a shock to the body.

Mar 18, 2010 - I was able to do one 6.5 mile walk yesterday! WooHoo!! Back to 121.5!! Bring on Spring & Summer walking! I am so ready!!

Feb 7, 2010 - I have fluctuated up to 123.5 and then back down again - this has been a rough 2 months with all this cold, rainy weather here in Mississippi. I am so looking forward to Springtime and back to my daily walking!

Dec 5, 2009 - Maintaining 120ish since July 22!

September 7, 2009 - September CT Member of the Month
This is a huge honor! I am humbled.

August 10, 2009 - I decided that 120 is my Ideal Weight. My maintenance range will be 117-122 even though I never saw 117. This decision came from my reaction to my Platelet Donation.

August 23, 2009 - 118.8! 92 down, 1 lb to goal!!

August 13, 2009 - 119.4! 91 down, 2 to goal!

July 22, 2009 - 120.9! Today I have lost 90 lbs with SparkPeople!!

May 1, 2009 - 125.8! It's offical! 85 lbs lost with SparkPeople!! Whoopee!!

April 29, 2009 - 126.7 Almost there!

Apr 16, 2009 - 127.8 Wow!

Apr 7, 2009 - 128.9!! WooHoo!

Mar 29-Apr 4 SP Class Team Leader! Feels awesome to be able to help others find their Spark!

Mar 21, 2009 - 129.7!! I have left 130-ville behind! Closing fast on 125!! Started my ST seriously, making more muscles!

Mar 17, 2009 - 130.8! I have lost 80 pounds with SparkPeople!!

Feb 5, 2009 - 135.9! I am normal weight for the first time in 50 years!! I don't remember ever being normal weight in my entire life of 57 years!!

Feb 1, 2009 - 136.7! .3 away from normal weight!!

Jan 23, 2009 - 138.4! Yahoo!!

Jan 16, 2009 - 139.6!! Hooray!!

Jan 11, 2009 - Ok, I cheated! There, I said it! I weighed after my treadmill walk and finally 139.9 but I am not sorry I did it! With luck I will be this upon waking sometime this week - legally.

Jan 7, 2009 - 140.9! Down 70 lbs today, by .1 but it still counts!!

Dec 12, 2008 - Donated blood again, blood pressure 107/69! WooHoo!! weight 145.5
65 pounds released forever into the wild, never to return!

Dec 6, 2008 - Getting close to goal weight now so feel I should slow down a little. Cold outside so not walking as much. Pulled my Cardio down to 60 minutes *more-or-less* to make time for strength training. Still losing!
**Red shorts close! But don't really fit right, lol.

Nov 24, 2008 - I reached 148.8! One day late of my goal (148) but it tastes just as sweet! Now on to 135!!

Nov 18, 2008 - I am now a Co-Leader of By The Numbers Spark Team! I am honored to be allowed to help with this wonderful new team.

Nov 17, 2008 - I am 150.9, that is officially down 60 lbs today even though I am only in by 1/10th of a pound! Whoopee!! This tastes better than any desert! I still want to reach 148 by Nov 23 but it will be ok if I don't.

Oct 31, 2008 - I am chosen as a Motivator! Wow!! What an honor this is. All I have done is try to be supportive and keep people going on their chosen programs. I will continue to do this and hopefully earn this great title.

Oct 30, 2008 - I have to eat more or exercise less! Less exercise is not an option so I am taking the leap of faith and increasing my daily calories by 300. Wow, who ever thought eating more could be a problem?!

Today, Sep 25, 2008, I am officially overweight!! WooHoo!!
I will never be obese again!

I have accepted myself as I am but now would like to prevent heart disease and stroke so trying to take off excess poundage.

I am changing my eating habits. I am going to lose all this extra weight! I will never be fat again!!

LOL, Linda, loving my new shovel. I may need one of those BIG scoop thingies, though. Lots of "cheer" going on here. Not to worry, there is goodness in me just under the surface that will soon take over and shower me with halos!!!
Enjoy the holidays!

Being Defeated is often a temporary condition. Giving up is what makes it permanent.

Lol as I read Ur comment on "yeah Miss is. #1 in obesity," I laughed, than it was sad. ME is #1 for. New. England. When a state depends on mostly food stamps and yet the people aren't taught how to balance their budgets with them, well they. "Think" junk food is cheaper, but that's not true. I probably pay a little more than the average person on food who's single with food, but I've sat a few people down and shown them how to budget for the month. They have some strange mentality that doesn't get it. Than again my daddy used to say "Diane, u can squeeze a dollar out of a nickel"! Lol I'm just like my. Mom, she sat me down when I was 17, and showed me how to run a household for not much and yet have very nice things.

How cool u got ur place for the price u did!! That's Pawsome!! Congrats. At this point to make my budget even better I have moved into elderly housing. It's quite the bargain!! Only 1/3rd of my income and this place is on the harbor. I'm though on the sunny side, but wondering if I want the ocean side, which I need to pay extra for the transfer fee. (A lot here wAnt a better apt then they have and say the "need" it for medical reasons, that's a crock of bull, most spend as fast as they get their checks. I stay far from those!!! If they know ur not poor, (since its income some of us pay a lot more than others) so yeah, I "act" like them, for a few used to come to my door asking for. $$!!! That appalled me!!! Who would do such a thing??? There are clearly a class distinct ion here. U can easily tell who worked and the "those who didn't". The ones we tend to call. "Welfare rat's". Maybe that's wrong, but it's true. Most of my friends are coming in here also Said they age. All but one. Bff is here. She's trying now, stopped working last yr, wants to stretch her budget also, but she's nuts on spending. Drives me crazy. T Nd. I hope to help her out. Ill b paying for her moving truck and expenses. I don't care it's only. $$$. I also pay for our vacation. Again it's only. $$$. This yr I think I'll have us take the train down there. I love trains!! Since the hotel is soooo expensive, maybe we can just travel around on the train and see more things. She'd probably complain, she's. Morbidity obese, lazy. I'd love that though. The berth s aren't probably big enough for her??? Hmmm well I d of enjoyed it. Sigh.

Hugs
