Seeing as how it's been three years, I thought it might be time to add something to this.
In my time here, I have come to understand myself more. I have gone through good times and bad, weight losses and gains, victories and errors. I even went through a complete career flip from a professional baker to a personal trainer.
Old goals were met, new goals have been set. As I grow into this new person I have become, new challenges make me determined to overcome them, which causes even loftier goals.
I am still a work in progress. I will ALWAYS be a work in progress. And that is exactly how I want it to be.
I'm Raven (Before you ask, yes. That -is- my legal name), and I'm hoping that finally being able to talk to people who understand how hard this road to a 'healthy new you' can be will be what I need to get down the last end of that journey and start anew. Most of my friends are skinny/fit people who really don't get how difficult this is. Although my boyfriend is very supportive of me, he's also one of those people who can eat a whole pizza and not gain a pound. Somehow I don't think he really gets it either.
Although I'd always been fairly chunky, even as a child, my highest recorded weight was 265lbs at age 14. This came about after an operation at age 13 restricted me from doing the only thing I really wanted to do, so I stopped doing everything and ate through my unhappiness. Many failed attempts, and even more failed starts, later, I finally started taking off some of the weight during high school. I got down to 190 in grade 12 and have been about that, give or take a few pounds, since I graduated in 2007. I'm determined to shed the rest of it so I can finally be in a healthy BMI range for the first time.
Hopefully 2011 will bring me the ability to finally be a healthy, happy, and active person.
