2016 Another New Beginning

I'm here, taking it slowly day by day. I'm just trying to educate myself as much as I can along the way.

I've always dieted and I've been taught this very well, so well in fact that I'm having serious issues with learning how to live a better lifestyle, meaning that I need to adopt a better healthier way of eating on a daily basis that I'm going to enjoy because if I can't enjoy my food then for me what's the point ?

I'm a chef's daughter and a bakers daughter. I was born with a very sensitive palette. I know when I'm eating garbage and when I'm eating a great meal. "I feel like my entire body and soul are in a sort of heaven !"

A great meal is when that bite dances around on my tongue and the juices explode in my mouth and my body and soul lights up the and the universe is so alive ! It's hard to put into the exact verbiage for me so that's as close as I can get right now.

I am learning how to get my veggies into my daily diet at least once a day, you see I can't eat chunks or big pieces of veggies so I have to prepare them differently, getting fruits into my daily diet has never been an issue.

On days I can't eat much I drink healthy smoothies that contain both fruits and veggies that my healthcare team have got me on and I really like it !

My Goals:
To workout everyday of my life for at least 30 min.

1st goal: 299 lbs, goal to be decided at that time,

2nd goal: 275 lbs, reward is to record my own cd singing my favorite songs,

3rd goal: 250 lbs, reward

4th goal: 225 lbs, reward

5th goal: 200 lbs, reward

Long Term Goal is:
to reach 180 lbs, reward GO SHOPPING FOR SLINKY NEW CLOTHES & LINGERIE !

My Program:
To expect just a little bit more out of myself everyday, nothing is impossible !

Personal Information:
I live in the beautiful PNW (Pacific Northwest) the Evergreen State, I've traveled over most of the US but I prefer to live here, where I was born and raised.

I see mountains everyday of my life and the lakes, rivers, ocean, creeks, any type of water around me. It's breath taking, all of it.

Other Information:
I will never give up !

Congratulations on your weigh-in results. My weigh-in is in an hour, and I had a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde week, so I'm trying to prepare myself to keep the long journey in mind! No matter what the results are this week, I mostly ate healthy, nutritious food and I exercised several times, so it is still a victory. But I'd be full of it if I didn't admit that it feels much more victorious when the scale goes down.

If you keep swimming, you will be totally blown away by how much strength you will build in your arms, legs, and core! I started in January and I do a very slow breast stroke. I mean, really, really slow...

At first, I could only do 15 minutes. 8 months later I can swim for an hour, if I have the time, and I'm taking lessons in the crawl, which also gives a cardio workout.

But the coolest thing is how much strength I've built in my arms, legs, and core. I can literally pop out of a chair, flip around in bed (instead of taking five incremental manouevers), sit up from the prone position without using my arms as levers and all sorts of awesome stuff. Even the cat likes to sit on my legs now that they are firmer (she didn't like how jiggly they were). The other interesting thing I'm finding is that my hips are almost three inches smaller at 316 pounds than they were on my last Spark journey 3 years ago. I assume the swim muscles are tightening things up.

Look forward to hearing how you find the swimming. Oh, if you need glasses to see (I"m blind without mine), for about $20 you can order a pair of swim goggles that come pretty close to your prescription).
