Summer 2015

It's summer time ! I am in the zone ! I'm learning to stop eating when I'm getting that feeling of fullness.

I am now mindful of when my stomach is getting to the point of feeling full and then just before that I stop eating, no matter what's on my plate, no matter where I'm eating at.

I also do NOT eat at the all you can eat places. Yes the prices are great BUT it's way to much of a temptation to overeat and using whatever feeling I'm feeling at that time to just eat ...

I also do NOT eat at the all you can eat places. Yes the prices are great BUT it's way to much of a temptation to overeat and using whatever feeling I'm feeling at that time to just eat two to three plates of crap.

I have also cut out people who are negative to my new lifestyle and it's working. I have a lot of support here and in my family. I'd have to say that my beautiful smart granddaughter Kimberleigh is my greatest supporter next to her dad, my gorgeous son. And I'm blessed to have them both in my life.

I still live in a volatile home life but I'm picking out the good about it and that's how I'm able to deal with this in my daily life and it's working. I'm getting to a happy place at least for half of a day when my other half is at work. When he's home I just smile and keep up with the cooking and the cleaning of the apartment. This way the situation is at least partially healthy.

The stress has caused slight damage to one of my heart muscles so says my heart specialist and he suggests my moving out or getting rid of my other half. I have no where else to live that I can afford so I practice a healthy life as I've said above. So far so good.

I know that one day I'll be in a place with minimum negativity, my own home. Thanks for the support Spark friends !

To expect just a little bit more out of myself everyday, nothing is impossible !

Personal Information:
I live in the beautiful PNW (Pacific Northwest) the Evergreen State, I've traveled over most of the US but I prefer to live here, where I was born and raised.

I see mountains everyday of my life and the lakes, rivers, ocean, creeks, any type of water around me. It's breath taking, all of it.

If you keep swimming, you will be totally blown away by how much strength you will build in your arms, legs, and core! I started in January and I do a very slow breast stroke. I mean, really, really slow...

At first, I could only do 15 minutes. 8 months later I can swim for an hour, if I have the time, and I'm taking lessons in the crawl, which also gives a cardio workout.

But the coolest thing is how much strength I've built in my arms, legs, and core. I can literally pop out of a chair, flip around in bed (instead of taking five incremental manouevers), sit up from the prone position without using my arms as levers and all sorts of awesome stuff. Even the cat likes to sit on my legs now that they are firmer (she didn't like how jiggly they were). The other interesting thing I'm finding is that my hips are almost three inches smaller at 316 pounds than they were on my last Spark journey 3 years ago. I assume the swim muscles are tightening things up.

Look forward to hearing how you find the swimming. Oh, if you need glasses to see (I"m blind without mine), for about $20 you can order a pair of swim goggles that come pretty close to your prescription).
