February 2010 -- About 28 pounds down!
I joined Sparkpeople in 2009, lost 30 pounds, and felt great! Then life got in the way, school got more stressful, and drama in my personal life made me gain it all back (and more, natch!).
So now, I'm back. And not just because it's the beginning of a New Year. Because I want to feel awesome again. Because I'd like my cute pants to fit again. Because I *feel* happier and less stressed out when I'm not shame eating thousands of calories of junk food. Because I love the way it sounds when I say, "yeah, I've got a 5k coming up".
There's never going to be a better time to live a healthier, better life than now!
Feb 1, 2012: 200 pounds *Done!*
May 1, 2012: 190 pounds
July 1, 2012: 180 pounds
Sept 1, 2012: 170 pounds
Nov 1, 2012: 160 pounds
Jan 1, 2013: 150 pounds
My goal is to become healthy and fit for the first time in my life! This involves losing weight, but more importantly, increasing my ability to participate in activities like sports.
In the words of Michael Pollan, I'm going to: Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.
I'm also going to track my food on a daily basis, because my mind does best when I have very clearly defined goals and the data to help me reach them.
I've started Couch to 5K again from week one, and I've already registered for a 5k in April 2012!
