Hey everyone. I've been on SparkPeople off and on for a while now. My weight has gone up and down. Last March, I ended up getting LapBand surgery, but it didn't help much because I didn't change my eating habits.
Today, I've decided that I REFUSE to go on another diet. Instead, I'm counting my calories, making healthier choices, and negotiating what foods I want to eat. I also assess what emotions I'm feeling while I eat, and I also try to really listen to my body and learn when I'm full, hungry, etc.
So far, I've lost 12 pounds and counting and it feels incredible! I'm ready to do this
I would like to lose 65 lbs. I have been counting my calories on SparkPeople and so far, I've lost about 12 pounds. I feel great and want to continue to change my life for the better. My goal weight is 180 and I am determined to get there. With the help of this site
I'm confident I will reach it.
I'm currently on a "better living" food plan (I refuse to call it a diet, instead preferring to make a plan for life). I'm simply trying to eat healthier (less carbs, less dairy, less bread, more veggies, etc.) and not force myself to starve or eat some restricted diet that I probably won't follow as soon as the weight comes off.
I currently live in Brooklyn, having just moved there recently. I love it and would love to connect with fellow SparkPeople who live in New York!
I am a musician, and I'm in NY working hard on promoting my jazz band, getting healthy, and settling down in this new city!
