I joined Spark People in September of 2010 and I'm sorry to say I haven't made the changes I wanted to make yet. I've fluctuated around 185 lbs for the last two years. Well no more excuses. I am making a commitment to do this thing, so please help me stick with it! My goal is to shed the layers of stress and excess weight that have been keeping me down and kick my butt into gear.

My Goals:
Lose weight and get toned lean muscles.

Increase my flexibility and energy level.

Feel comfortable in my own skin.

Embrace my inner athlete. It would be amazing to do a 5K.

When I meet my goal, I am buying a cute bikini and taking a trip to one of the places on my dream list.

My Program:
Track my nutrition and exercise daily.

Eat smaller portions and more frequently. Increase my intake of fruits and veggies and limit carbs, dairy and sweets.

Drink plenty of water.

Workout at least 3 x week and take some fun classes to stay motivated, like kickboxing or dance.

Take more walks and stretch at work.

Personal Information:
I am a Colorado native and a mountain girl at heart. I studied biology in college and now work for a healthcare company. I love to travel and find beauty and awe inspiring moments in nature and life. I would rather sleep under the stars than in a five star hotel. I enjoy spending time outdoors, reading, watching movies, and taking photos.

Hey Jo! I saw that you're a member of the Boulder County Team, so I thought I'd add you as a friend! I'm the team leader so be sure to stop by the page every once in a while and see what's going on. How is everything going with you? Let me know if you ever need any help! Good luck, you can do it!

Thank you for the Goodie....they are like Birthday or Christmas presents. They are always a fun surprise.

The journey will take you through the gamut of emotions. There will be triumphs and some places where we all stumble but as long as we get right back up and brush ourselves off, take a moment to regain our balance and then take one step forward we will acheive our goals.

Hang in there!

I am right there with you rain...

I am on the 1200 - 1500 calorie range and I have been a sporatic exerciser as well. It is difficult when I don't have money for a gym membership, I don't have a friend or exercise buddy that pushes me, I don't own exercise equipment other than a treadmill that is ancient and smells hot after about 20 minutes on it, and it is winter and cold here in Ohio so going outside is about impossible. The next three days are going to be high temps in the single digits to around 10 or 13 at most.

I am hoping to change a bunch of that with a financial aid request to the YMCA. I am hoping that once I get in there I will find a person to exercise with; a buddy. Keep me posted as to how you are doing with your progress.

I got the meitakes this week in Whole Foods in Boulder, and often Natural Grocers Vitamin Cottage (next door to WF) has them, too.

They are my fave shroom! And so beautiful to boot!
