Wow! I didn't even realize how big I was. Me at 240. Forty four pounds ago.

Me forty five pounds less. Still a ways to go, but I'm gonna get there!

I have 4 pics in my gallery

Negative no more!

Introduction...Hmm...Okay. I'm Lori, a fifty year old mother and stepmother of nine children, grandmother of seven. Like many of us I have struggled with my weight for most of my life. This left me with some pretty huge self-esteem issues that I fight with to this day.

It is my goal to take this journey one step at a time. Maybe then I will actually see the completion of it rather than a gung-ho start leading to another failed attempt.

That said, I warn you of ...

That said, I warn you of major weirdness going on in here. Humor has gotten me through a lot and I am working on the fine art of... odd. I have given up trying to explain why something is funny to me. It just is. Thank you. Working in the customer service industry will do that to you, and I have been here a long, LONG time. Ya gotta laugh folks!

Oh, and I like long walks on the beach in the rain.

And kittens.

My Goals:
Goals, goals...let's see. Of course I would like to be able to lose the weight that has plagued me for years, but I really need to become healthier and a happier person. I have abused my poor body for a very long time. Some goals I have actually realized. I quit drinking, (HUGE), started dealing with my periods of depression in a more pro-active way. Stopped internalizing every slight, every self pronounced flaw, and I am trying to learn to accept myself as I would accept others, warts and all. Got to shoot for more activity. Making myself exercise is a big problem. I realize however, that I must. If nothing else, so that I may be able to make my children's life miserable for as long as possible. Lol!

My Program:
My job forces me to be active to a large degree. However, my body is accustomed to this so I must become more purposefully active. I have started walking at least 3 days a week. As this becomes easier I shall try to incorporate strength training. I have started to introduce more fresh vegatbles and fruit into my diet along with healthy fats. Baby steps.

Personal Information:
I'm Lori. From Texas. Land of weird weather and strange (but cool) people.

Other Information:
Humor has gotten me through a lot in this life. My humor might be a little off kilter sometimes, but I can usually get a laugh out of someone, eventually. If not, well, you're just an old poopie face. (Nothin' but love for ya!) Lol!

Happy to hear the blog motivated you and looking forward to hearing about you joining a gym emoticon

Once I conquer the alcohol issue, I'll move on to another challenge. It's all about keeping ourselves challenged... but keeping things in balance too.

Welcome to getting healthy and fit. I have gotten great success with using all the tools provided and the support. I have been where you are and it seems the biggest hurdle is ourselves. So with the support of people that have been where we all have been we will loose. emoticon to the emoticon you.
