I joined up on sp after christmas time when i was hit with the fact that i had gained 20 pounds in my first semester and about 30 pounds total since the christmas before . I wasn't very active with sp and ended up kind of using fitday for a few month. I tried to watch what i was eating (and drinking...) and i started exercising with my now best friend. That helped me maintain my weight and start retoning my physique. My best friend from back home told me about sp and i rejoined and started ...
I joined up on sp after christmas time when i was hit with the fact that i had gained 20 pounds in my first semester and about 30 pounds total since the christmas before . I wasn't very active with sp and ended up kind of using fitday for a few month. I tried to watch what i was eating (and drinking...) and i started exercising with my now best friend. That helped me maintain my weight and start retoning my physique. My best friend from back home told me about sp and i rejoined and started causually tracking my food and attending classes at the ymca. I noticed very little change from may to june. Then in July I lost about 5 pounds in the span of three weeks. After that i stayed stagnant as far as numbers and size are concerned, but i continued toning up. In aug i returned to school and dropped around another 5 pounds, bringing me to about 123. I'm still 8 pounds heavier than i have ever been (well for being as out of shape as i am, i use to be a solid 118+ and very content then i lost a lot of muscle due to a few sicknesses and lack of use) All my jeans are starting to fit again and my stomach is beginning to flatten out. My long term goal is to get down to about 113 -115 and to stay above 110; with my build i begin to look way too thin once i go below 110.

My Goals:
-reach 112-115 by christmas

-get in 4 miles m/w/f. 2 miles t/th.

-try for 3 miles on the weekend

My Program:
i''ve recently become attached to running. as of right now i can run two 8-8.5 minute miles consecutively.

-i have cheerleading practice two days a week, m/w, t/th alternating everyweek.

-i am in a group exercise class that lasts about 50 minutes ever t /th

-and of course college night at the clubs means lots of "dancing" on thursday night

-and once parking is free at the beach (end of oct) i will be going in the morning to get a .5-1 hour walk in everyday

Personal Information:
I gained the dreaded freshman 15, more like 20, my first semester....i didn''t really realise it until i came home during break. i mean i knew i had gained some but it was a low blow when i stepped on a scale. i cried for a while and became quite depressed bc i had never weighed over 115, i even felt big at the size bc all my friends were (still are ha) so small. So once i got back to school my best friend and i started working out and trying to eat right and i started to notice a little change but not much. I''ve upped my physically activity and and trying to work a healthy diet into a college setting... i''m really glad we have our own kitchen!

Hello. I was just browsing the site, and came across your page.
( I am hoping you will read this in it's entirety), so you don't miss any little detail.. .

I wanted to take this opportunity to invite you to our team. It is called "OVERCOMING OBSTACLES".
It is a forum that my wife (Tickle*Me*Pink-aka Carol) formed. At first, it was for people with a disabitliy,but now it's expanded to everyone..disability or no disability. As a matter of fact, more then 1/2 of the group do not have a disability. Carol says "well, if there are angels, they're all here because it's like a bunch of angels carrying all of us to our goals"

The link is located on my sparkpage, (it's a cartoon drawing of my wife in her wheelchair, with a dalmation chasing some diet soda balloons LOL she drew it herself!) and the main discussion room is still named "disabilties group".
People post their successes in life,their obstacles, their personal stories, motivation to succeed, advice, different health obstacles, parents' topics, different age rooms, losing baby fat, books insight, crafts, literary, recipes, motivation..etc.etc..and there's even a thread for jokes(to name only a few).. There are many little challenges posted , to give us a little added "spark", too.. (maybe you can come up with a challenge too--all you need to do is to contact Tickle*Me*Pink through sparkmail or check out her sparkpage..)..if you don't feel up to a challenge for now, you will definately find comfort and encouragement in any of the rooms you browse in...

I was hoping that you will click the link, join the group, and come to post in the main room,("disabilities group forum") & maybe share some of your own successes,obstacles, goals, etc..for us to all get aquainted,better. As you read some of the posts in there, you will see some amazing accomplishments, before and after joining sparkpeople. Spark coach Jen is a member of our team, also, and is willing to help everyone.

(my wish is that everyone on sparkpeople has a place to meet.(.wether they attend to other groups,that's always okay)..but I feel it is important that there is a place like that.. this is why I'm so THRILLED TO INVITE YOU TO "O.O."
PLEASE feel freeee to invite your friends in with you..I know they'll be almost as delighted as we are to welcome you to the" place where people with "spark" or.. as my wife Carol says it so well "place where angels congregate"!!
