I will not be visiting Sparkpeople much (if at all) this summer. Wishing all my sparkfriends the blessing of a terrific summer full of good things!

My Goals:
Fit for life!

#1 The one thing you should never, ever do is tell yourself you’re not motivated. (Coach Dean)

#2 Move to a BMI in the normal weight range for my height.


My Program:
Achieving a healthy lifetime-lifestyle is my overall goal.
This means losing 40 pounds, and loving all these things:
-- a well-balanced diet (high in fruits & veggies)
--exercising 6 days per week
--keeping sodium intake low
--eating slowly to savor and enjoy my food
Doing this while keeping balanced in all areas of my life is important - my relationship with God, with family & friends, spiritual growth, and giving back from the abundance I've been given.

My attitude towards weight loss plateaus:
When I get to a plateau, I will think of it as a landing on the stairway to my goal. Weight maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world.

    HI, Kay, haven't heard from you in too long. How is life going for you? I have not been to my page or to the place I record my eating... and I can see the difference caused by being more lax with myself.

    I had been to a retired teachers convention at the Osthoff in Elkhart Lake, WI. That is a grand and gracious resort wherein one can eat and eat. I allowed myself to splurge just a bit to enjoy the total experience of being there (I should have experienced their full gym, too. lol)... and gained 4 pounds. I am sure it will come off again soon, but I will need some extra effort for a while.

    I hope to see you here again soon.
