As at April 2013, I have 70lbs I'd like to lose.
I aim to lose my weight slowly – so that it sticks – so I'm hoping to be at goal by 1 April 2014 (01.04.14).
I'm 48 years old and I am determined to get really fit and healthy. The big 5-0 is coming up – and I aim to be in the best shape of my life – and this time I know I'm going to make it!
As well as radically changing my nutrition I'm really focussing on exercise this time around. These are the resources I'm using to build a new foundation for health:
♥ Body Control Pilates by Lynne Robinson (UK Pilates guru) – this is re-educating my body and bringing me slowly back in to correct physical alignment – I love her approach ♥ Barbara Benagh Yoga DVDs – she is another pure genius and her instructions make yoga so clear and safe to practice – love her ♥ Core Secrets by Gunnar Petersen – an infomercial purchase I will never regret ♥ C25K on my cross-trainer instead of on-the-road – so I can build up my cardio-capacity without injuring my body (or 'doing myself a mischief' as we say over here in the UK)
My name is Maria and I'm from London, UK. I'm of Scots/Irish-descent and I was born in England – so I'm a bit of an in-betweenie culturally – which is great, I think.
I'm eating vegetarian (and even vegan) a lot of the time these days and I'm really enjoying it. I'm not sure if I'll go for it 100% in the future, but I'm enjoying the variety of plant based foods.
I have already lost 35lbs with Weight Watchers – but I find the SP approach more holistic – so I made the switch.
I love the fact that SP has membership without borders. It's really interesting to get the different perspectives of people from around the globe.
Thanks for reading my blog on my meeting my heart health goal. It is so comforting to know there are so many others here offering support and encouragement. I'm going to spend a little bit of time on your page and get to know you!
