Hi! I'm a working mom too and I noticed your ticker on your Sparkpage. We are both at the same weight now and have the same goal weight - so I thought I'd reach out and cheer you on! You can do it! It's just a series of little changes and decisions we make every day. Want to be that babe mom on the beach too! (Next summer - I've got a ways to go - for now I'll take being the cute mom at the Holiday party!)

Rachel,

Thanks for the nice comment on my blog. We have almost the same life story. I will be 29 this year, have been married 9 years and have an 8 year old daughter!

emoticon Welcome to Spark, Rachel!
I've been here since Nov. 9, 2009 and have really learned a lot about myself, food, and exercising. I truly feel joining Spark was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
One of the best tools is the nutrition tracker. You will be shocked when you enter a typical day's food! Try to track everything you eat and stay within your limits. Donít panic if you slip - we all do! Just put it behind you, you canít change it, and move on. One of the main concepts at Spark is to take two steps forward for each step back!
The fitness tracker is also a great tool. You can track your steps, mileage, cardio exercise, and strength exercises. It will tell you how many calories you have burned.
Take time to make lots of Friends and tell them when you reach a goal or are having a hard time. They are here with praise and support all the time! Don't be afraid to ask any question, no matter how silly you think it is.
Take time to explore Spark. Read and respond to message boards, blogs, and other members' pages. The help, support, inspiration, motivation, encouragement, and friendship you will receive is awesome! The site can be confusing at times but just keep looking around. There is really a lot of valuable information here!
emoticon Feel free to contact me if I can help you in any way. Drop by my page to say hi.
Stay focused, determined, and positive - you will be successful!
Sheila

Hi Rachel and welcome to the Alabama Team! We're glad you're here! You've taken the first step to a new, healthy life and that is great! Don't overwhelm yourself by trying to do too much too fast.

Take it slowly and learn one new habit at a time! Maybe start by drinking 8 or more glasses of water every day or do a little exercise every day or track your food on the nutrition tracker and see what you really are eating.

If you really want to get a jumpstart on your program, come on over to the Alabama Team Page and join the 24# in 12 Weeks Challenge. You can find it under Team Goals/Forum. While you're there, be sure to Huddle with the Team!

You'll find loads of support and help here! I wish you the best! Louise
