Love Thyself

As you have guessed my name is Rachel. I am a mother of three amazing children with my oldest starting kindergarten this fall. After three kids I packed on the weight and I can't hardly stand to look at myself in the mirror anymore. I'm hoping with the help of sparkpeople I can loose all this baby weight, get healthy and teach my kids healthy living in the process. I'm totally excited!

May you have…
For every storm a rainbow. For every tear a smile.
For every care a promise. And a blessing in every trial.
For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share.
For every sigh a sweet song, and an answer for every prayer.

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

May flowers always line your path, and sunshine light your day.
May songbirds serenade you, every step along the way.
May a rainbow run beside you, in a sky that's always blue.
And may happiness fill your heart each day your whole life through.
- Irish Blessing

The best part of your commitment to health and fitness is the example you will provide for your children. It is a great opportunity to lead by example!

Good luck in your journey! -- Remember that this is about a LIFESTYLE, so there are lots of opportunities to learn and grow.

I too suffer from a sweet tooth. I keep sugar-free hard candies, sugar-free popsicles, and sugar-free fudgesicles in the house. I limit myself to 100-120 calories of sweet treats a day. The popsicles are about 15 calories each (Bluebell taste the best), 5 pieces of hard candy are about 40 calories (I like Werther's), and the fudgesicles are about 40 calories each. The fudgesicles are the highest in calories, but they have the most flavor, you can't even tell their sugar-free. You can also try making fruit smoothies using an artificial sweetener. I use Stevia, it's an all natural, zero calorie sweetener without aspartame. I usually save all my sweet treat calories for night time, that's when my sweet tooth shows up. Hope this helps. emoticon
