Rachel's Rest Stop

Where I come to refresh and be refreshed!

BIG NEWS: The latest CT Scan shows the opacity we have been watching since August is SMALLER, so it is not a recurrence! When you have a rare cancer that has no chemo option, this is REALLY good news!

My doctor has given me carte blanche to do any activity I choose, as long as I get alot of exercise. I hope to try ice skating & volleyball again......stay tuned!

NOTE: I have read alot of different testimonies on living with lung cancer: they were all pretty negative & hopeless! I am glad I didn't read them early on. After 2 surgeries 6 months ago, I am pain free and working, and playing, whatever I want. If you have cancer, I advise you to DO WHATEVER YOU FEEL YOU CAN, with your doctor's permission. Do NOT let someone else's experience convince you that you can't live normal life, excercise, etc. You can do whatever your ody allows! Go out there and DO IT@

Stay tuned for my 'adventures'!!!

My Goals:

Right now, I am having some health issues, so I am concentrating more on maintaining healthy habits, rather than on weight loss.

My Program:
Lots of walking, standing when I could be sitting, looking forward to being healthy enough to ride my bike again. inthe meantime, limiting fats/processed cars seems to maintainmy weight nicely.

Personal Information:
I live in the Northeast: enjoying the varied weather patterns! Yesterday it was 70 degrees....today it was 40! Anything goes.....

Other Information:
I enjoy cooking: it's fun hobby. I like sports, LOVE VOLLEYBALL, watch the entire Olympics! I I enjoy most needle arts, being outside or inside, I just LOVE LIFE! I look for happiness whereever I am...if there is none, I MAKE some. Sometimes out of nothing at all.

Hi and welcome Rachel to Surviving Cancer. My name is Hope a co-leader. We're really glad to have you on the team and hope to see you post soon so we can get to know you better. Even eating healthy is a step in the right direction and you may find just by eating healthy and getting healthy the weight will come off anyhow. If you have any questions just ask one of us leaders or go to the chat room and ask there. Anyone will be glad to help you.
