My hobby is a sitting thing, and my job is sedentary too. I just had to take action, put in the effort, and get results that I could be proud of. I want to be healthy and strong with an enthusiasm for life that will take me anywhere I decide to go. I am happy, engaged in life and satisfied with the journey. Are we sharing this path together? Fitness Minutes: 13,921

My Goals:
To become more healthy so I can enjoy life more. I'm swimming laps almost every day and getting stronger. Oh I just love summer I also walk and workout on the Wii and with weights. I'm sure there's benefit to all this over time : - )


My Program:
I'm working out on the treadmill when the weather is cold and I swim when it's warm outside. I'm eating healthy and watching everything I eat pretty closely. I'm also planning on staying healthy spiritually, emotionally and physically for the long haul.



Personal Information:
I live in the southeastern part of Washington state.
I'm married and have 2 grown children and 2 grandchildren that I don't see enough of because they live so far that it's not easy to get together. I''m working on making a special quilt for each member of my family. It might be a life long goal. It's been going slow because I've been hand quilting almost everything, but I'm learning to machine quilt and one by one I'll get there!


Other Information:
I love to collect things. I currently have a collection of blue & white china plates of all sizes and shapes, a teddy bear collection, a thimble collection, a collection of Dicken's Village houses, a separate collection of quilt shops, and a small collection of antique sewing machines (treadle or otherwise). And of course the quilt collection. DH says it's too much, please say it isn't so LoL.

    So happy to hear from you dear friend. I have been struggling, too. I have gain some weight back. I hope illness does hit me again. I need to get my strength back so I can go at it again. I wear out fast when I exercise. I keep goofing up with my food. Maybe soon I will straighten up. Have you made anything interesting lately. You do such beautiful work. We both have to lean on our faith in the LORD. I still am dealing with the lose of my sister. I miss her so very much. I have days I emotionally eat. No good! I hope to hear from you more often. I miss our chats. Take care of yourself. I am praying for you emoticon

    Hi Karla,
    How are you doing now days?? I don't know if you still get on here much, but I had a question for you. You said on your page you had a few old treadle sewing machines. I just got my first one. I love it , but it is missing a belt and presser foot. Do you know of anywhere to get parts for the old machines?? Any help is appreciated!

    Hi Karla. I didn't get the e mail about your comment on my page but today was looking at my friend feed. Welcome back and glad to heat that you are getting a bit better from the health issues. I've been faithfully tracking nutrition on my iPod and only gained a half pound over the holidays.We had a nive etime and all the kids enjoyed their gifts. It's been super cold( high's below zero) and we have a couple of feet of snow on the ground, so I've been walking inside. Wishing you a healthy and happy 2014. Hope to keep more in touch. Hugs, Pam

    Glad to hear from you, Karla! I, too, have been a bit remiss. I try to log in and spin, glance over the friends feed, and get back to my projects. I haven't taken time to read comments, or write any for quite a while. I don't know when we "talked" last, but I have been really busy since my vacation with my Mom and sister in September. We took a bus tour to Georgia and the Carolinas. Had a great time. Then I tore into my projects for Christmas gifts, making about 100 things, some simple, doll cloths,a few ornaments, etc, but making my total for the year 171. I had all my kids and grandkids and Mom all here for Thanksgiving , some families for up to a week. Then by the time I got beds done up, and gifts wrapped, etc, Tom's kids/families showed up for a week or so. Then I had one son's family here for their Christmas on New Year's . We also celebrated our anniversary on the 30th, and my birthday yesterday. I finally fell into bed last night exhausted, and didn't wake up until 11 AM this morning. I'm getting psyched to really do the weight loss better this year.I haven't reset my ticker, but I had gained about 15 pounds back. Several relatives and I are having a weight loss contest 'til Easter. We have a total of $400. in the kitty, so we're all determined to win! LOL What health issues do you have going on now? Still related to your surgery in the spring? Gosh that must be frustrating. I hope it is not too serious.I'll keep you in my prayers, too. I hope you had a great Christmas and have a Happy New Year! Keep in touch, girl!
