My Goals:
My goals are to exercise, eat right and feel better. I want to have the energy to keep up with my busy life and I hope to loose weight as a result, but I am not going to stress over the pounds.

My Program:
I plan to do something active every day and choose better options when eating. Tracking my calories helps hold me accountable to not go crazy with the buffalo wings, and gives me encouragement when I make better choices and see better numbers on my chart!

Personal Information:
I live on the west side in Albquerque. If you are nearby and looking for an exercise buddy, let me know!

Other Information:
I have been homeschooling my kids for 7 years now. I love to help others get started on that road. I love to quilt and sew. I also love to hike, bike and jog. I love to shop too, but it doesn't burn very many calories and tends to cost too much. LOL

Hello, Jennifer!

Stopping by to check in and see how you are doing and to hopefully encourage your journey. I am focused this month on my way of thinking about food and health issues. Proverbs 23:7 says, "For as he thinks within himself, so he is" (NASB). Our thoughts greatly influence the things we do and I am realizing that I too easily revert back to old habits because I am not convinced in my heart and mind of some changes I need to make. So I am deliberately working to take every thought captive to obedience, recognizing those thought processes and search out new ideology / theology to correct my belief system where health issues are concerned. I pray for you and I today as we work to change from the inside out in ways that make us new creatures through and through.

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

“Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed….” 2 Corinthians 9:6-15

“Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.” 1 Corinthians 9:26-27

These two verses found in Scripture have wisdom for us as we press forward to reclaim health. I pray that this wisdom will fill you up and carry you successfully to the goal.
