***I cannot deny the temptations & I'm REALLY beating myself up over it!
I have my moments too. For instance, I had two star crunch cookies on my ride home, when I really didn't need them. I wasn't hungry. I can't beat myself up over it, because it is done. I just have to do better now! NOW is key. Do better starting NOW, not TOMORROW! Otherwise, you'll just over indulge for the rest of the day.
*** How in the WORLD have you kept your momentum going all this time?! What motivates you?
I want to be proud of myself for what I have accomplished as well as what I WILL accomplish. If I give up, I cannot be proud. I'm not perfect. Between August and November of 2008 I jumped from 166lbs to 186lbs. I had to refocus and remember that this is for me. I'm now down to 154lbs or so.
***Why is this time different from all the other times you tried in the past? I know it's something, b/c we've all got a "past" of dieting hell!
I lost 50lbs back in 2002. I wasn't getting much positive feedback or compliments. This made is easy for me to regain all of the weight. Now, my husband is very supportive. I receive a lot of positive feedback from friends, family and my world on Sparks. Positive reinforcements make things a lot easier and encourages me.

I didn't believe in me when I started. I told a girl at work I wanted to be as skinny as she is, thinking it's not very probable and she must think I'm a joke. I had very little self-confidence. I was going through a rough time in my life, so what was one more thing to screw up.
It is hard and I am glad that you came back. The business can be very challenging. However, you can do it. It would be better for you and the whole family if you could find a way to incorporate more healthier fast snacks than to resort to the junk. It is not easy - especially at the beginning but maybe just try to replace a snack or two a week with healthier ones like apple and peanut butter. I try to plan time to make healthy meals on the weekend when I have more time and freeze it for quick meals during the week. That way I have quicker healthier meals. When I do have fast food I try to stick to the healthier options. I like McDonalds grilled chicken sandwich without the mayo and no fries. There are ways to make it work on a busy schedule. It just takes a little preplanning. You can do it. Make eating healthy a priority. Also when you fuel your body properly and not on the junk you will have more energy. Those sodas may give a boost but they also make you crash. It will take time for the body to adjust to eating healthy but you will feel much better and have more energy. 2586 days ago
