Welcome to Sparkpeople! I hope you've found your way around the site, and that you are feeling encouraged and motivated to reach your goals!
I did a search for sparkpages of people who live in or around Shreveport/Bossier, and your page came up - I wanted to let you know that we have a sparkteam called "Shreveport/Bossier Area Sparkers" and it seems that most of the people on the team have quit using the site - we sure could use some new blood around there! Check it out, and join if you like - maybe we can get some challenges going, or something to "spark" up the team a bit! 3331 days ago

Patti, I have diabetes (type 2) and arthritis also. I had lichen planus in the past. The root cause was my blood pressure medicine. It took a while for the doctors to discover the cause. Once I changed medication the steroid started to work and the rash slowly got better and better until it went a way. While I was on steroids my blood sugar was higher and making me hungrier, and the extra insulin told my body to store fat. So it is hard to loss weight, but not impossible. My endocrinologist suggested taking 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and 1 oz of low fat cheese about 10 minutes before applying the steroid cream. It does take a while to get use to the vinegar. It seemed to realy help the high blood surgar. Now that the rash is gone, I take the vinegar and cheese before going to bed, it lowers my morning reading. I hope it helps.
Hi Patti - I saw in the huddle that you're in need of support so I thought I'd stop by and see if I can help. I know some days can be rough and those are the most important days to stay focused, drink your water, use the trackers, communicate on the boards and keep your thoughts positive! Remember, you CAN do it!!!
