I've been trying to lose weight oohhhh, for about 15 years now. It slowly crepped up to a grand total of 30 lbs that need to be lost.

I joined SaprkPeople about 6 mos ago, but I didn't really get serious about losing my weight until 9/17/07. I have a personal goal of a 30 lb weight loss. Of course I'm a bit flexible if I'm working out with weights and I gain back a few lbs. due to muscle wgt.

My main goal is to be healthy and look good, and to not have to obsess ...

My main goal is to be healthy and look good, and to not have to obsess about my weight or ever have to feel uncomfortable about it again. Just to strike a balance.

My target date is the beginning of June. We have a big family vacation planned to all go to South Carolina for a surprise vacation trip for my Mom's 80th birthday.

135 lbs: (Reward) Purchase some new clothing. Buy some bras that fit properly.

130 lbs: (Reward) Get laser hair removal treatment done. (I sound like an extreme makeover at this point. LOL)

125 lbs. (Reward) Enjoy family vacation and keep maintaining with a sound, healthy diet/way of life.

My Program:
My focus is to lose 2 lbs. at a time, each week. I start each Monday with a weigh in, and my goal is to be 2 lbs lighter by next Monday. No matter what I weigh in at on Monday, it's a 2 lb. focus. So, if for some reason, I gained a lb. I still go by trying to lose two lbs.

I try to stay within my SP goal ranges for calories, fats, etc. Escpecially calories; I have to be w/in 1200-1550 calories. But Personally, I try to stay w/in 1200-1300, this way if I go a bit over a day here or there and it's as high as 1400-1500 then it's not so bad. I know that I still will be OK for weight loss, even if I did go over.

I apply the Weight Watcher's principles being that I was a member there about a year and a half ago. I started out well, but for some reason, I just couldn't seem to get below 145 lbs.

Thank you for commenting on my before/after photo.

Everyone loses weight at different rates, and even my own rate of weight loss fluctuates. The important thing is that the scale is not going up! For many years, my scale was steadily creeping upwards each time I weighed myself, until finally I stopped weighing myself--probably a psychological attempt to pretend the gain was no longer happening either.

Yay! that's no longer the case :)

Thanks for the Spark Goodie! I am a tea person myself, but I agree it would be nice to be able to sit and chat once in a while! We will have to catch up by phone soon. I gained 5 pounds between Christmas and Valentine's Day. Then we went to a wedding in Myrtle Beach this weekend. So, basically, I have been eating waaaay too many sweets. I am working on taking off those pounds, and trying to pull out of the nosedive that sweets always send me on! Thank God I work in the fitness industry or I would be lost! Thanks again!
