Enough. I want to live fully. I can do this!

I love my life - my husband and daughter, my job, my apartment, my hobbies, my religion - but there's a deep something that forms a dark background to all of these things. I am unhappy with how I look and feel, and that colors the rest of my life's blessings.

I love my life - my husband and daughter, my job, my apartment, my hobbies, my religion - but there's a deep something that forms a dark background to all of these things. I am unhappy with how I look and feel, and that colors the rest of my life's blessings.

If I lose weight and learn to maintain a healthy lifestyle, I will see so many benefits - happiness, energy, self-confidence, pride in myself. I will be able to wear the clothes in my closet, walk down the street without self-consciousness, not be winded when walking up the stairs, not be disappointed when seeing a photo of myself... the list is endless. My reasons for doing this are many and the rewards legion.

I weighed 145 lb at my wedding, 5 years ago. And I thought I was fat then. Ha! I am starting SparkPeople at 189 pounds. I would like to reach what the all-knowing BMI index says is a healthy weight for me - 130 lb.

I'm loving SparkPeople's nutrition and fitness trackers - you can check mine out in the link in the side bar - and I'm enjoying interacting with friends in the SparkTeams.

I'm pumped and ready to do this! FINALLY!

My Goals:
I would like to become fit, reach a healthy weight, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

My Program:
I aim to eat between 1200 - 1500 calories a day, and get at least an hour of exercise 6 days a week.

Personal Information:
I am 27 years old, married with a 2.5 year old daughter.

Other Information:
I bake cookies and brownies for a cafe in Berlin. (Can you IMAGINE how hard it is having that stuff in the house?) I write freelance non-fiction for a newsletter in Israel. I do the finances for a non-for-profit organization in Germany.

I love reading. I pride myself on my housekeeping. I want to learn to become a better cook. I want to learn how to knit *properly* but alas, have no human nearby to guide me.

I just realized I could go on forever, but I will spare you. We'll get to know each other on SP :)
