I lost 30 lbs last year(2007) and felt great. then came a two week visit with the relatives. Oh no! Let's just say a but a few back on then, and have had a gradual gain since then. I lost 30 lbs last year(2007) and felt great. then came a two week visit with the relatives. Oh no! Let's just say a but a few back on then, and have had a gradual gain since then. When I stepped on the scale and realized my toes had disappeared again it was time to stop crying about the gain and get back to work. The not crying and working have really paid off. The getting started was hard though. First was adjusting the whole families diet (luckily we've always had a "this is what's for dinner, if you don't like it, oh well" rule). Now, 11 weeks later, the whole crew attests to feeling better and enjoying the food adventure. Not that they don't want a good greasy pizza now and then. The other tough part were the looks I got when I first started. The "laundry wasn't done, so why was I going to the gym" looks. The crew has learned that if they want clean clothes the can contribute to the laundry mission. So.....so far my weight loss has given me more "me" time, gotten my family to eat better, and taught them to take more personal responsibility for meeting their own needs. This has and will continue to be a good mission for all of us.
