My "happy weight"

This was the day I realized that I had really let myself go.

When I get back to this size, I will be a happy woman!

Screw the bad attitude!
I suffer from an acute case of Screwit-itis. I do really well on a nutrition and fitness program for about 4 weeks, and then get frustrated with the lack of perceived progress and give up. Well, screw that! I'm better than that and am worth more effort than I am giving myself. I think I've finally found a program I can stick to, but I'm always looking for new ways to jazz up my routine. ...so I'm back on SP. I've been a Sparker since June of '06, but you wouldn't know it by looking at my progress -- or lack thereof. My goal is to find my source of self-motivation, leaning on my fellow Sparkers until I find it.

My Goals:
Stop putting garbage into my mouth and get back into the shape I was in a few years ago. SHORT TERM GOALS: Learning to stop myself when I want to eat everything in the pantry. I can seriously eat three days worth of calories after dinner alone. Not healthy.... LONG TERM GOAL: To adopt a better attitude toward food and fitness. ...and for purely vain reasons, I'd like to be comfortable in a bikini by next summer.
My Program:
I hop onto my elliptical every morning before work and get in some all over strength training on two of those days. On the weekends, I usually do some heavy-duty cleaning, yardwork, or some sort of home-improvement project. I count those as "creative workout" days. As long as I'm not sitting on my butt flipping through the DVR, it counts!!! I try to eat clean about 80% of the time. I usually hit about 95%, but some days just call for chocolate! I REALLY need to stretch more often, so I work it in while I'm watching TV. I am really bad about taking care of my stress. I am incorporating massages into my rewards to get into the habit. I can more than afford to get them regularly, but I'm too cheap! I am constantly educating myself on health, fitness, nutrition and wellness. SparkPeople helps tons, but I'm also a magazine junkie.
Personal Information:
I'm originally from southern Illinois, but the Air Force has plunked me down in the Florida panhandle for the time being. I really should be taking advantage of the beach for fitness opportunities.... I have a beagle, and he is my preferred replacement for children. Dogs don't talk back. I am currently working on my Masters Degree. It's a pain in the arse, but it makes me feel really special. And sometimes a little snooty.
Other Information:
I'm politically undeclared because I refuse to choose the lesser of two evils. I am a rabid college football fan. ROLL TIDE and BOOMER SOONER!!! I'm still paying for both schools, so I reserve the right to continue to root for both teams. I have skin cancer but love the outdoors. Therefore, I keep Coppertone in business all by myself. I have a back injury but still exercise EVERY SINGLE DAY. It's not a valid excuse. Shut up and move. I am a news junkie and really enjoy the fact that my job forces me to know what is going on in every corner of the world. That also makes me feel a little snooty. I love meeting new people. I may not love when they stick around, but the initial meeting is usually a lovely experience.
