We've tried all kinds of meds as well as natural things like probiotics - the current antibiotic seems to be doing the trick finally, but it's kind of off and on with things. When he starts having more good days than bad days, we'll be confident that he's on the mend.

Our wifi is slow because either it needs resetting, or too many people are online at the same time. Typical hotel problems.

Glad your recovery hasn't been dragging on too long - and yes, people are pretty good at making do with however little they have.

DH is feeling better - it seems that the parasites he picked up in Guatemala caused this residual infection or something, I don't know how else to describe it. Doctors aren't sure exactly what happens, but some people develop this in certain parts of the world - intestinal parasites, then take the meds and kill them, and then it seems like they still have the parasites but really it's the secondary infection thing. Anyway, the drs at the tropical medicine clinic in Seattle have him on a low dose of antibiotics - it'll be long term, like a year or two, but he definitely is feeling better and is having fewer stomach problems. The biggest problem is that because he isn't properly digesting and absorbing his food, he gets days where he's really low energy, and feels very weak. So I have to try to keep him eating decently. Drinking Red Bull helps, since he absorbs through his stomach just fine - the problem is in the intestines. It's all quite weird, and not too usual. Of course, doctors get all excited about unusual problems like this, so they're happy to see him, LOL!

Glad to hear that things are coming along - I know how slow it can be, and yes, this administration promises everything and pays for nothing.

I just heard from the daughter of my former landlords, where I lived for nearly half my time in St. Thomas. They got power just before Thanksgiving - so two months plus a week or so of no electricity. Ugh. I remember we went through that after Hugo, and years later after Marilyn. I was cooking over a coffee can filled with charcoal - it was my make-do barbeque. Not great, but it worked.

I'm doing great! DH isn't doing as well, his back has been hurting - so I often dance around the room in the evenings just to get more steps.

So how are you? Is your area pretty much recovered from the hurricane?

    Thank you for the goodie!

I figure 10 miles more per month - that's the goal. Should be able to achieve that.
