Trying to reach my bliss point

Had a beautiful baby girl via emergency c-section on 11-25-12. I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but it is distributed MUCH differently. I lost muscle and gained fat. My belly is super jiggly and sticks out like I'm still pregnant. Now that I'm recovered from the surgery, I want to get back into shape. I'm going to take it slow, though. The baby doesn't give me much time to exercise, especially since I'm breastfeeding, so I'll be working in what I can here and there.

The baby doesn't give me much time to exercise, especially since I'm breastfeeding, so I'll be working in what I can here and there.

I'd like to regain some of the muscle I lost and lose the big belly. I've started back at my dance classes and have been walking (though it goes slower with a stroller to push -- my back can't handle carrying her for long b/c she's already heavy!). Hopefully, she'll be willing/able to entertain herself for longer periods of time soon, once she is able to grab and hold toys and sit up more. Then, I'll be able to work in more dance practice and maybe even an exercise video now and again.

My Goals:
To gain back the muscle I lost during pregnancy & after baby was born, especially to firm up the jiggly post-C-section belly.

To get back to the weight I was 4 years ago before I started my desk job -- 116 lbs.

My Program:
Mon: Belly dance class w/Tamra-henna

Wed: walk with Joni


Walk 10-20 minutes at least 1X/week during work breaks.

Any dance practice I can fit in.

Personal Information:
I'm an Economist at my "real job." Have my own business making and selling polymer clay jewelry and crafts and also gourd art and instruments. I'm doing more with the gourds lately.

I am active in a few local craft guilds. I also belly dance.

Seems like I've always got something going on! Sometimes I forget to include exercise in there.

Thanks for your comment. The situation has improved a bit. My dietary changes are still pretty hard for my mom, but she's making more of an effort. Plus, I'll be moving out soon now that I have a job so that's really exciting. I can't wait to go to the store and stock my kitchen full of wonderful healthy foods!

I love Pumpkins. I LOVE Halloween. I TRY to grow them every year but I only get a couple. I did grow this 1 big one a few years ago but it was soft and falling in on the bottom. but on top you wouldnt know anything was wrong with it. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Thanks for your comment on my blog. It's so funny that you said you only leave your teabag in for a minute. I left it in the whole time for my first bottle and it was way to strong! I found that by taking it out after a minute or so the water doesn't get too strong (or bitter) and I can use one teabag for the whole day!
