If you've participated in any type of weight loss program before, you already know that being active helps you lose weight. What, if anything is stopping you from being active?
***Don't have time?? Studies show that women who make an intentional self-commitment for making a habit of daily activity are the ones who maintain weight loss.
*** Think you;re too tired?? Research shows women have more energy as they gradually increase activity
What are the key points for success? 1. Be safe! 2. Whatever activity you choose, start slow and build gradually. 3. Self-monitor (log) your activity. 4. Determine your starting point for activity.
If you spent less than 45 minutes total over the past 7 days doing moderate physical activity for at least 10 minutes at a time [such as brisk walking, bicycling, vacuuming, gardening, or anything else that causes small increases in breathing or heart rate]. Then start with the basics.
If you are already doing purposeful activity that is more than 45 minutes total over the past 7 days that is moderate in intensity for at least 10 minutes at a time, - Then keep up the great work!
