Protein helps in two ways: First, you burn more calories to digest it. Second, because your body has to work harder to digest a protein than, a carb, you stay fuller longer. In a recent European study, people who ate moderately high levels of protein were twice as likely to lose weight and keep it off as those who didn’t eat much protein.

    In your quest to be more active, lose weight and/or eat a healthy diet, you need to chart your course. Having a plan is the way to go. The old adage “fail to plan and plan to fail” holds true. In order to reach your goal, you need to have a specific strategy. Don’t just say “I will exercise more”, instead say “I will walk for at least 30 minutes 7 days a week”, and then do it. Don’t say “I will eat more fruit and vegetables”, instead set the goal of having at least 1 – 2 vegetables or fruit at each meal. Write your goals down post your outline where you can see it. Chart your course and you WILL reach your destination.
