I have been a member of spark people since September, 2007. I fought my weight most of my teen and adult life. In October 2010 I decided to take control. I went to Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA and inquired about the Gastric Bypass Surgery. I was a good canidate and was accepted into the program. I started seeing the nurtitionist, pychologist and medical doctor. I also started losing weight for what seemed like the 99th time in my life. I had Gastric Bypass Surgery on Feb. 28th 2011 I weighed 246 I was down 33 pounds. On Monday of this week I was down 20 more. I am using this tool to my advantage. It is not easy getting all the protein and staying hydated, but it is so worth the effort.

It has been so long since I have been too my own page!! I am now 46 years old and at my heaviest weight ever!! I was on such a roll and I lost it!! Gained back all my weight and then some! Well I am back on track again. I have learned the hard way that If something works don't try to change it!! So I need to log my food and exercise, cause that's what workd for me!!!

my name is Patty I'm 43 years young!! Okay now I'm 44!! I think i am a wonderful sister and a great friend. I am also the best auntie any kid could have! I love doing things with my nephew's. My niece is 14 and too old now. LOL !

I am So tired of losing and gaining. I enjoy walking and swimming. I love to Dance. I was ready to get the lap band two years ago, but didn't end up having it done. I am grateful to have found this wonderful place to share and be inspired. I enjoy living life. I love to read. Spend time with my family and friends.

Since joining spark people I have lost and gained 20lbs. 2 times!!! I can't believe I let myself go again. I am now determined to get back on that horse and practice what I preach!!!

Done with not knowing what's going in my mouth, I will track my food daily, because I know that works for me!

Done with not hydrating, I will drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, this too I know works!!

Done with feeling weak, I will strength train 2x per week, again this I know works for me!!

Done with all these extra pounds, I will do 30 minutes of Cardio 5-6 times a week, either walking, swimming or dancing!! Again this works and will work!!

Done with not socializing, I will huddle with my spark teams and spread the spark love daily, again it worked in the past!!!

Done with self pity, I will not give up on myself!! I am worth much more than that!!

Done with emotional eating, When I feel like eating for no reason, I will either Blog or Log!!

Done, Done and More than ever Done, I am soooo Done being the fat Girl!! I will put my thoughts into action and live healthy!! I have done it before I will do it again!!

In the words of John Mellencamp, ( who happens to be my Boyfriend) "I'm on my way"!!

Got Really Serious and had the Phisycal Trainer at the work place who exericses with my elderly take my measurments for me

Another 8.75 inches off my body!!!

Three months have passed and said goodbye to almost 27 inches of fat from my body for GOOD!!!! Who knew!!!

All I can say say is I am worth it and it it worth getting up at 5 am and leaving the house in the dark!!


Joined the YMCA and have been swimming in the morning before work. Tried Zumba, Pilates and yoga! LOVE them all!! Will continue to attend them all, what have I been missing!!

I have been missing the change to take my life back! well I am not giving up now!

Hello, My name is Patty. I live near Boston, MA. I Live with my brother Which can be a challenge because my brother, he loves to eat!! I am a Social Worker working with the the elderly. I love it and need to focus on me now!!

Other Information:
I enjoy reading mystery and suspense novels. Recently started a book club with my girlfriends! Ok the book club didn't do very well six of us Got the Book "Girl with a Dragon Tattoo" Three of us read and went on to readk the series while the others never got into it!!
I love to dance and enjoy living life to the fullest. Love crocheting, making hats, scarves and baby blankets for family and friends.
