Look Out 50

My name is Nancy and I live in Calgary, Canada. I will be 50 next March. Over the last few years I've been on the weight roller coaster. Up, down and all around.

I am back to 167 pounds and am unhappy about that. I worked so hard to lose it and then instead of being careful I just let it go! I think part of that is I never did reach my actual goal weight, so never transitioned into maintenance. So now I am back to square one again.

My secret goal (OK, so I've blown it now) is to have some amazing photos done as I get closer to 50 so I can look back on them when I'm 80. I want to get my body into amazing shape and would like to see the muscles underneath.

The big difference since I did this before is the hormonal changes my body is going through... so this time I've joined different types of groups for education and support.

Day 1 is reacquainting myself with SparkPeople and the changes that have happened since my last visits.

My Goals:
To live up to my potential. To treat my body with the respect and awe that it deserves.

Specific:
~ 130 pounds by October 31, 2010.


My Program:
Lifestyle:
- Golf 1x/ week
- Walk 5x/week
- Weights everyother day
- Reformer Pilates periodic

Nutrition:
~ 8 Glass of water/day
~ 1250-1500 calories per day. (aim for the higher end given my increased activity levels).
~ Currently learning about eating clean.

Motivation:
~ Visiting fellow SparkPeople pages to see what's working for them and how they overcome challenges.

~ Educate, educate, educate so I don't slip back into unhelpful habits.

Success Checks:
In addition to the scale:
~ Notice how my clothes fit differently
~ Pay attention to my energy levels
~ Recognize what I have achieved instead of focusing on what I haven't.
