Proud to be a NERD!

Howdy y'all :)

I'm a recent college graduate (December '11) who landed her very first job as a web developer six months ago.

I'm 24 years old, 5' 1", and 240 lbs. I know... Yikes!

I'd like to eventually get back down to 150 pounds. Still heavy, but WAY healthier than I am now! I'm not a very active person really. Judging by my screen name it's quite obvious why. ;) I have a bachelor's degree in Information Technology and a minor in Art, and I love playing ...

I'd like to eventually get back down to 150 pounds. Still heavy, but WAY healthier than I am now! I'm not a very active person really. Judging by my screen name it's quite obvious why. ;) I have a bachelor's degree in Information Technology and a minor in Art, and I love playing video games and doing stuff on my computer. My job as a web developer also requires me to sit in front of a computer all day. Unfortunately, sitting on my fat butt in front of a computer screen is not the best way to lose weight.

I've dabbled in a few interesting sports, namely archery (traditional medieval style with a real wooden longbow! No modern compound bows for me! I made my own arrows too!) and fencing. I'm ok-ish at archery (been months since I've gone shooting) and terrible at fencing (which I've also not done in at least a year.) I like swimming too, but I'm far from professional (you wouldn't exactly call my stroke methods "standard") and there's no pool where I live that I can go swim laps in for free...

My biggest concern with this site so far is the food tracker. I don't cook my own meals as I still live with my parents, and I don't know how to cook anyway unless it's microwaveable, so I don't know the calorie content of some of our dinners.

So I guess that's all y'all need to know about me... anything else you wanna talk about, feel free to ask.

Oh, and I don't respond well to those who think "tough love" or being blunt with me is the way to go. If you can't give me advice in a positive and encouraging way then please don't bother.

My Goals:
Go from 240 pounds to 150 pounds by next year. I'd like it to be sooner, like my next birthday, but... well... the goal setter thing said that rate of loss would be too fast.

My Program:
Attempting to meet my calorie range with the tracker. If I can ever find time or motivation after work to exercise, I'll do that too.

Personal Information:
24 year old web developer from Texas.
