Hi there! I’m Marissa; I turn 30 this year and am the wife of a former Marine and mom to the two MOST AMAZING girls. 2016 is going to be a year of re-birth for me. I’ve been on sparkpeople for years and years so it was interesting to look back at some of my goals from the last time I was active on spark, 2013. I reached my goal of running a marathon, Eugene Marathon in April of 2013, and I finished in 4:51:12. It was an amazing experience and I was so proud. Unfortunately after that I started sliding back down the mountain. From such high highs to such low lows. That fall I got injured, a re-occurring tendonitis in my lower calf/ankle that side-lined me. I would take breaks from activity for weeks only to have pain when I started back. The doctors couldn’t prescribe anything but costly PT and rest. My food addiction re-surfaced and I took a new job where we had movie theater style popcorn for every meeting. Even after I moved office I got assigned to a new desk right next to a candy mess stocked with cookies and licorice. It was like putting an alcoholic in a bar. The 94 pounds I had lost and kept off from 2007-2013 came roaring back. Now I find myself back where is started so many years ago knowing what it takes to get results but having a hard time taking those first steps. I hope sparkpeople will again be a fire under my feet to get me back to the person I know I am inside; an athlete.
My goals for 2016:
Run HM this summer under 2:30
Run HM this winter under 2:10 *my lifetime PR is 2:06
Lose 61 lbs by my 30th bday (8/10) (aka 2.44 lbs/week)
Complete an at home workout program in its entirety
Begin training for a full marathon in 2017

    Hey! Insanity was tough for me to stick to. I'm so much more into lifting than I am cardio/plyo type workouts. BUT I started last week doing a mix of the two and I'm liking that. I just alternate days of Insanity and P90X. Last week I was able to fit in 4 workouts total and I'm aiming for that this week. Insanity has me so dizzy and out of breath sometimes it's almost scary!

    Anyway, how have you been? Good for you on the races!

    We decided not to find out again. We ended up flipping a coin at the appointment to make our decision; we just couldn't decide. I honestly like not knowing and the planning and there isn't much planning I feel like I need to do, especially for number 2. Everything we bought for my daughter was gender neutral and we aren't into painting their rooms since we know we will be moving in a few years and have to paint them back neutral. The only thing we did do gender specific was to buy two different bedding sets and returend one once she was born.

    I would love to have another girl so my daughter can have a sister. My sister and I are very close and I treasure our relationship. But, I know my husband kind of wants a boy to carry on his name (the last chance his famiy has). He is ok with another girl though because our first is such a daddy's girl and he LOVES it!

    We'll have to wait another 20 weeks to find out what this one is emoticon

    Thanks for the comment on my status. How old are your girls? Have you done Insanity? I see you do P90X workouts too. I LOVE those! I'm planning on completing the 90 days worth of Insanity but then doing a hybrid workout of the two to get back to lifting. :)
