Need a change

I have learned that in order to change yourself you have to be ready. You can't join a fantastic website like SparkPople and expect it to magically motivate you. You have to have the motivation to make the changes, or it just won't work.

I joined this site over a year ago, but I wasn't really ready to make changes when I did...........and then my weight escalated. One day I stepped on the scale and reality sunk in when the scale read 283 lbs. I could imagine the scale saying ...

One of my best friends had asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding and I decided that it was the perfect opportunity to lose 20 lbs. With help from my supervisor at work I started a walking program and she suggested some ways that I could eat better. So, I started working at it. I am pleased to say that by the time the wedding came around I had lost almost 30 lbs.

Unfortunately the Holiday's got the better of me and I gained 5 of those lbs. back, but it's a new year and I am ready to go. I am armed with books like "The Spark" and "Skinny Bitch" and I am determined to meet my weight loss goals.

My Goals:
I want to not be lazy and make sure that I make dinner for myself every day using fresh natural ingredients.

I have learned that smaller goals are better. I want to lose20 lbs by 12/31/2010.

I want to be healthier and more active.

My Program:
Food wise I realize that meat and dairy have been a problem for me. For the present time I am trying to limit the amount of meat that I eat by replacing it with other protein filled foods like quinoa. I am also attempting to cut dairy out of my life completely.
