Spark people has been a part of my life for several years now. I've struggled with my weight and body image since I was young. I tried doing all sorts of exercises, running mostly, some light weights and dance.
I ended up yo yoing a lot with my weight, and my pant size. After I survived nursing school and started work April, 2012 I decided to start crossfit. I started with their onramp program and was hooked instantly. I have seen many gains in my fitness, personal records being made, and then beaten monthly. I raced a 10km run and was pleased that with little running training I was able to keep up with my previous speed.

Now that the new year has come, I have decided to get more serious about my training. I've started seeing where my weaknesses lie within crossfit and want to work to improve these weaknesses to make myself a more rounded athlete. I've also started to work harder at watching what I eat and eating with the mindset that food is fuel. I focus on lean meats, vegetable, some fruits and nuts and healthy fats. I've done well so far. I've started really seeing changes in my body composition, and I'm excited to see where this mind set can take me.


Past events 2010:

Grand Prix Series April 11-5 km (31:09), 18-5km (30:09)
Eco Adventure- 40km-paddle, run, bike. (3:50:30) Wow that was long!
Beaches 1/4 Marathon July 24 - 7.6 miles (1:18:20)
10 & 10 Sept 12 - 10km 1:05:04

2011

Eco Adventure 35 Km paddle, run, bike April 19 (3:00:53)- that's right- 48 mins faster!

Winnipeg Police Man's Half Marathon Relay May 1 (partner didn't show up, but I ran- slowly, but finished!)

Manitoba Marathon Relay- Team total 5:02:35

Lean out- ideally get to under 15% body far. (currently at 26.5%)

Get strict pull ups and hand stand push ups.

Improve baseline time

Toes to bar- 10 in a row

Ring dips without a band.

    I'm glad your enjoying your crossfit.Your dad said if we ever move back to the city we're going to move out by you guys so that you and I can drag each other to stuff.YIPPIE! Lol.I don't think my bike pic is at my goal weight I'll try get 1 posted today.Your doing really good with your weight also I see.I think I could stand to lose another 10lbs but your dad and my sis say no. emoticon

    Glenda, thanks for reading and commenting on my blog. Your support and encouragement means the world to me.

    Don't be too hard on yourself for not knowing, because I didn't tell anyone, or at least tried to keep it quiet. I used SparkPeople to focus on positive aspects of my life such as running and fitness.
