I've struggled with my weight my whole life (especially in my teen years.) My highest weight was 210, but with diet and exercise I was able to drop down to a slim 150, which put me comfortably in a size 8. After getting married, I was maybe a teensy bit less attentive to exercising and being mindful about my eating and gained a little back, and then, once I went to patisserie school, I gained even more.
Now I work as a professional baker, and with such easy access to baked goods, sweets and pastries, losing that extra "butter" weight has been a bit of a challenge. My husband (who has also gained some weight since I went to pastry school!) and I have made a commitment to get healthy and get in shape together.

I recently hired a personal trainer, who in addition to my new fitness regimen suggested a low-carb diet. I was reluctant (I mean, I'm a baker- I loooove carbs!) but I started the South Beach Diet, which is going great!

One of my goals is to get in better cardiovascular shape, because the culinary industry is a physically demanding career field, and I know it will be easier and I will have more energy at a healthier weight.
I also want to finally be a healthy weight, and be fit! (Fitting into a size 8 or 6 would be a nice side benefit!)

My Goals:
I want to make it to the "ideal" range on BMI charts. I also want to improve my cardiovascular strength.

My Program:
South Beach Diet, along with strength training/cardio (with a trainer) three times a week and cardio only twice a week.

I have a very physically demanding job, and I know the better shape I'm in, the easier it will be.

I love baking, sewing and vintage clothes shopping. I'm also a comic book geek and unapologetic nerd.
I love hair metal, glam rock, 90s alternative, college rock, neo-swing and new wave.
