Size Of My Life

I want my life to be large. I want to live my life to the fullest. To do that I have to define my life by how healthy I am in mind, body and spirit. I can no longer define my life by the size of my pants or the numbers on the scale. Starving, binging, purging and compulsive overeating are no longer options for me. I want to set an example, by the way I live my life, of having a healthy relationship with food, exercise and my body image, for my daughter Alexa.

My Goals:
To continue in my recovery from an eating disorder that has included bulimia, starvation and compulsive overeating. To have a healthy relationship with food and exercise. To keep my focus on gaining strength and energy, as opposed to loosing weight. As weight loss becomes the natural by-product of my lifestyle , to work through my fear and allow my body to be and remain at a lower weight. To not let these goals turn into a diet as I continue to loose weight.

My Program:
On 12/31/07 I went back to making weight training and cardio a regular part of my life (I wanted to beat the 1/1/08 rush to the gym). I have renewed my committment to feed myself according to my "stomach" hunger and to refrain from emotional and/or stress overeating. I stop eating when I begin to feel full and try to avoid feeling "stuffed" or "starved". After 14 years of recovery from bulimia, including, binging and vomiting, abuse of laxatives and over-exercising, these behaviors are no longer options in my life. To set an example, by the way I live my life, of having a healthy relationship with food, exercise and my body image for my daughter, Alexa

Thanks for posting. This is sooo correct. I honestly agree with the experts that say that most eating disorders are tied to some sort of emotional trauma. emoticon
