Fibro-Mama

I am a single mom. I have 5 children. Due to fibromyalgia and the restricted activity it causes, I have gained weight.

My goal here is simply to eat a more balanced diet instead of eating only once per day. I feed my children very balanced foods but I'm just never hungry. A glass of water or coffee is enough to make me "full" and so I'm never really hungry.

My Goals:
To increase flexibility & strength lost due to FMS.

To combat chronic fatigue through an increased intake of food. I need a more balanced diet.

My Program:
Right now, I'm just increasing food intake and eliminating soda. I need to increase water consumption but it's difficult because water causes painful heartburn.

How are you doing? Have you been able to get yourself to eat several small meals a day and get some of your extra pounds off? How is your Fibro? That sure seems to be an illness that a lot of Sparkers are dealing with. I found some exercises on YOUTUBE for joint and shoulder flexibility using "INDIAN CLUBS". Check them out as I think they would be good for you.

Woo hoo!! That's great news! I'm glad you're making progress. Just keep taking baby steps and you'll keep moving forward.

I read your post about water (and vinegar and whiskey....wow). I'm not sure what to say there so far. I'm trying to research it a little but I'm no doctor and I wouldn't want to really give advice there. What about things like fruit juice or sugar free kool aid? I'm guessing the kool aid is the same as water so probably no good. Watermelon? Lots of liquid in it. Just a thought. There has to be a way to safely increase fluid intake, it's just a matter of finding it.

I'm glad to hear things are working out. I'll be looking forward to hearing more good news.

Thanks for adding me- I keep trying to use this to journal and start but can't seem to keep it going. I gained weight from a combination of desk job (sitting 8-14 hrs) and grad school. My highest was 188. I have since graduated and am seriously focusing on me. I am working on portion control and making better choices food wise.

So far this year has been good, I am down 3.5 lbs. Taking it one day at a time- similar to you.
