Hi my name is Laurie, and here is a few things you should know about me... I love the outdoors. I have been on diets before, many successful, and more that were not. I think that this is the best website I have ever seen to assist individuals with their goals of weight loss, and the road to a happier, healthier lifestyle. I grew as a thin child and didn't put on the majority of weight until after childbearing. I have come to realize now that there is no such thing as a diet, it is a change that you must make and stick to for the benefit of yourself. That includes eating the right kinds of food. I believe in that saying: "You are what you eat."

Ok..so I am trying to create a healthier lifestyle for myself. I love life.. In 2006, I lost about 50lbs, but then I stopped exercising and lost my focus and gained it back. It was a struggle to get my focus once again, but I believe in myself and know I can get there again. I was almost at my goal weight, well actually I was at 160lbs and then something happened. I think my ideal weight would be 155lbs so I am going for it. I love sparkpeople, there is so much information here and I have really learned a lot. My doctor says that I have to lose weight if I don't want to get diabetes or high blood pressure...so here I am. ....I plan to get to my goal weight this time and to get at a good bodyfat level. My Goals:
My goal is to lose 50 pounds by June 2011. I hope I can do it.

I am happy to report that I participated and finished my 1st 5K in October 2010 for Breast Cancer Awareness.













My Program:
THESE ARE MY SPARKPEOPLE GOALS:
Consume 1200-1500 calories per day. Eat 2-4 servings of fruits and veggies, and lean protein. I also have a protein drink a couple times a week to go with my workouts. Drink 8 bottles of water or more a day.

Cardio training 6-7 times a week 30 minutes or more per session


Total body strength training/resistance training 3X a week for toning

My doggie's name is Buster, he is a shepard/collie mix and a cutie.

Thank you for stopping by my Spark page and leaving such a nice compliment. You also where inquiring as to how I lowered my body fat. The number one thing I did was changed the way I eat. 80% of how you look is based on what you put in your body. I started eating clean, no processed foods. I also eat only complex carbs and I consumed my body weight in protein.

You said you are already doing strength training but I also lift as heavy as possible. I use to do 30 minutes of cardio a day or 20 minutes of HIIT but with me now getting ready to Figure Comp I am doing 2 30 minute cardio with 45 - 60 minutes of strength training. I had my BF taken this week and I am at 14% for whatever that is worth.

Stay focused and you will get there. The BF did not drop over night.

How are you doing? I hope all is going well for you!!
However, this have been a hard few months for me.. I'm back to 80's but I refuse to change it or move back!... 1'm at 180.6 I'm struggling..

Hey girly!!! getting out of 180's has been so hard for me....lol, I hope we will be moving into the 170's by next month.. we need to start looking for a place together, lol... I see you.. you look GOOD!! =)
