July 09 update-
I've just joined a team that is going to help me succeed! It's 30 Pounds by Turkey. An inspirational group of ladies all set on losing 30 pounds by November 26th! I can do this!!

I'm here to become the healthiest Mom I can be. I have a lot of reasons for wanting to lose weight. I can't just say, I want to look good, or I want to be healthy, or I want to have more energy. The truth is, I want it all. I want to buy adorable non-plus-size clothes. I want to dance and run with my kids without getting tired. I would say I want my husband to think I'm sexy, but he already does. ;)

Above all, though, I do want to become more healthy. I have Type II Diabetes, which my doctor says would barely be an issue if I got down to a healthy weight. I need to be healthy for my kids. I need to be a role model for them. I don't want them to grow up as fat kids as I did, feeling crappy because of it for so many reasons. But I also will never put them on a diet, the way I was, weighing in daily at age 10. I just want us to be a healthy eating, active family.
And I don't want people to meet me and think of me as "the fat mom." I care what people think. I admit it. I'd love not to care, but I'm not there yet. I want for once in my life to feel like people think I look good. Sexy even.
So yeah, I care about appearance and health both. I think that's pretty normal.

My Goals:
I want to go from having a soft, mushy size 18 body to having a firm, yet curvy bikini body. I want for the first time in my life to feel good about how I look--in a bikini, in jeans, in a sexy dress. I want to be healthy and I want to look good. And I'm willing to work for it!

My Program:
I'm listening to Dr. Roberta Temes' "Enjoying Weight Loss" hypnosis CDs every night. It's absolutely amazing.
I'm tracking everything I put in my mouth here on Spark, as well as my water and exercise.
Also, I am doing Turbo Jam every day. My favorite is Fat Blaster. It kicks my ass and it feels so good! I've never had so much fun exercising.

Other Information:
I spend most of my time taking care of my kids. Before my son was born I was a travel agent, and now I work there occasionally when I'm needed, as a substitute when my boss is out. It's a nice balance.
In my spare time, which is basically non-existent, I love to write--children's stories, short stories, a novel. Never been published, it's basically a hobby. I also enjoy scrapbooking and photography. And the shows LOST and One Tree Hill. I have many interests, none of which get much of my time--except for my kids!

    Hey, how is it going? I like your pictures, and I love the name Oscar! We considered it for our oldest but ended up naming him Oliver instead.

    My diet has been up and down, I've been traveling a lot lately so I don't track my food and exercise when I am not at home. Luckily I am not putting any back on but I am loosing periodically! Now I am home for a couple of weeks and dedicated to shedding another couple of pounds.
