I've been Sparking for five years!

I started Sparking in April 2009. Since joining, I've gone through many, many challenges and changes but I keep coming back!

I used to want to lose weight for all the wrong reasons.
Now I'm older and wiser and I have finally embraced the idea that weight loss is all about getting healthy. I have an energetic three year old boy and I want to be a healthy role model for him.

I lost quite a bit of weight and got within 10 pounds of my goal in 2012 but I struggled ...

I lost quite a bit of weight and got within 10 pounds of my goal in 2012 but I struggled to maintain it. I gained the weight back over the past year and a half at the rate of almost two pounds a month. I tried and tried but couldn't get any of my old strategies to work again. Then, I had a breakthrough. I discovered that I have reactive hypoglycemia. This information has been life changing and I'm back here on Spark to tackle my weight gain for good!

My Goals:
Complete the C25K running program again and run 5K .


Fit into my collection of "too small" clothes.

Lower my BMI so it's in the healthy range (25 or under):

My Program:
Follow a low carb plan with frequent meals to manage my reactive hypoglycemia.

My exercise goals include getting back into some of my old favourites - yoga, snowshoeing, biking, jogging and belly dancing!

Personal Information:
I want to celebrate my 40's with a stronger, healthier body!

emoticon Hilary! Think of healthy living as a career. Make goal setting a regular part of your life. Become a permanent participant in sustaining better lifestyle choices. Focus on one goal at a time to become a healthier you. Develop an action plan for each goal and finish what you start. Each positive change will lead you to better results. You CAN and WILL turn your GOALS into the results that you are striving for!
